Diabetes runs in my family my father just got one of his toes amputated last month…I don’t wanna die young man I have to conquer this shyt
The best thing to do, is start now.

Man honestly I would invest a stationary bike. You can get one off Amazon for under 300. Use it while you watching tv or any down time. At first it'll same tough but over time you'll stronger and build up a greater tolerance for endurance. As it stands now, I use my bike 2-3 times a day for about 45+ minutes. I can burn any from 250-400 calories in a session.

Write your goals down breh. If you wanna lose 100 lbs make that your overall goal and then break it down into small chunks.

So you big goal is 100 lbs but your 1st goal could be to lose 10lbs.

Then make a plan for how you wanna lose that 10 lbs and hold yourself accountable
This makes sense thanks I’ll try it

Sounds like more excuses to me. :unimpressed:

Eating more and trying to gain weight (bulking) is much harder than losing exercising and weight (cutting) in my experience.

Cutting weight requires eating less: it costs you less money/time making/buying/eating less food, but bulking requires you to spend more time and money eating.

Fast metabolism gang has no sympathy for folks that can't put down the fork when they're eating like it's a second job.

:unimpressed:

Regardless, the motivation to make this stick cannot come from others, it has to come from within. Your rewards might be external (making gains for the girls, training to compete or win something, etc.) or internal (you're tired of seeing yourself getting fat, etc.), but the motivation has to come from *you*.

A friend or personal trainer is just a tool, possibly even a crutch, but it's hardly necessary. I make it to the gym more than 90+% of people and I never had a "friend", "trainer", or any of that to make it work.

Trainers can move, get fired, drop you as a client, and friends can fall off, get tied up, fall out, whatever. But as long as you maintain that internal fire, none of that will matter.

I never been overweight so I can't really comment but all I can say is that you have to want it more than you want to eat. That is the case about anything in life. People assume that being in shape is easy but they never stop to think about what it took to get there and what it takes to stay on that path. All the hours spent researching workouts and lifts. Hours spent putting together meal plans and preparing food. Hours spent exercising. The sacrifices made to accomplish your goals. And don't let me start about the headache of dealing with people who are insecure and want you to stop because you make them feel bad about themselves. It's not easy and it never gets easy it just gets easier. But that said, in the end it's worth it imo. Look around you and look at all the people who are slowing dying and don't even know it. I hate to bring it up but on this very forum there was a thread asking how many medications do you take on a daily basis. It was truly said seeing the number of people who are taking multiple medications a day for health related issues. If that isn't motivation enough, just look at the stuff your family is going through with their health. That was enough for me to go down this path and keep on it.

You have to know how your mind works. Sounds like you are looking at it as this big mountain to climb. Start with small goals and go from there. It will build like compound interest.

fukk it ok guys I think I wanna make an attempt at losing weight again…but Idk why but I have a strong feeling to just keep intermittent fasting and eating small until I drop some pounds…food really is going to be the death of me because Im beginning to have a reaction everytime I eat anything…literally if I eat in the morning I would start gagging (attempting to throw up) but nothing comes out…it isn’t as bad throughout the day but it still happens sometimes (stress causes this too)…I’m gonna start doing home exercises (squats, jumping jacks, push-ups, sit-ups…etc) everyday and see what happens.

Honestly wouldn’t do IF at this point. Be more concerned about your overall health and feeding yourself well.

I wouldn't even say it's eating less, as much as it is eating more nutrient dense foods, and keeping track of calories....

For example:
1 Mcdouble from McDonalds is 400 calories, but I could eat 3 greek yogurt cups(330 calories) and a garden salad with lite dressing(40 calories) and still come out cleaner than that trip to McDonald's. Also i technically ate more, eating healthy as well.

Not tracking at all.

In your example, the McDonald's is probably better for bulking (but not healthier); it'd actually be better to eat fewer, denser foods IME. If the calories are the same then it still won't matter if your metabolism is fast: you either hit a surplus or you don't.

The person cutting might be more satiated eating the yogurt and salad, but the number of calories is similar, so simply eating the burger isn't less from a weight-loss perspective.

Just my opinion though. :hubie: We don't seem to see eye to eye on these things. :hamster:

Dude is trying lose weight.

That’s what the point of this thread is.

I only used the 3cups of yogurt as an example in comparison for calorie count. When the reality is, 2 cups yogurt and a salad are filling.

Whereas if I eat a single McDouble it won’t be filling for me. So I would need to either order another McDouble and / or add fries and a drink which would put the caloric intake at 800+

Ah.

Two cups of yogurt and a salad are not filling to me, and anyone else with a permanent tapeworm. That shyt just takes up more room in our stomachs and time out of our schedules. YMMV.

forcing yourself to eat less and actually exercising on the whole is super hard when u don’t have a friend that u can workout with and keep u motivated

having an accountability partner in the gym is fine BUT you have to realize your accountability partner does not have your body...in the end YOU have to want it...because its very rare that you have some to workout with everyday......so thats a habit no one should develop...if you want someone like that pay for a personal trainer for sessions

also theres also one question i ask for people who have a hard time finding motivation: what is more important? food and drink or a higher quality of life? very simple question with a very simple answer. provides you with the proper mind state and motivation if answered truthfully

my 2 cents
