-Make sure you are well rested and fed. Just like it isn't good to take a test while exhausted and/or hungry, it isn't good to do the same for studying.
-Study ahead of time. Don't wait to the last minute to study (cram), especially if you have a lot to study for. The brain can't process all of that info in such a short amount of time.
-Whatever you are studying break it up in chunks. Example: Lets say you have three chapters to read before a test two weeks away. Calculate how many pages of each chapter that you have to read and divide the amount of pages of each chapter by three each. Then you read one part per day.
Chapter One= 30 pages: 30/3=10: You read 10 pages a day in three days.
Chapter Two= 40 pages: 40/3=13.3 (repeated): You read 13 pages (Rounded off) a day in three days.
Chapter Three=25 pages: 25/3=8.3 (repeated): You read 8 pages (Rounded off) a day in three days.
All the reading will be done in 9 days and you'll have 5 days left till exam time. After each reading, take notes and soak the information that you have just ingested. During the 5 days left, study/read the notes you took (Which will be much easier then reading all those chapters in five days) and the day before the test, I would honestly take a break to allow your brain to recuperate.
There is such a thing as studying too much.
I know it sounds like it doesn't make sense (I can show you better then I can tell you) but, that's what I do with any reading I have to get done and it helps A LOT.
