Well the one I have is MPC2000XL with the zip drive and no 8out board I love the sequencer for drums but when it come to samples loop it's aight I rather chop the samples in the MP and use my Yamaha SU700 for samples. look into the MPC1000,2500 or 5000 it's more computer friendly that the older MP models.

Over the summer I bought an MPD 18. Its made by akai and is plug n play. So u have to us it through your daw. It has NO preloaded sounds.
Best part!!! 100 bucks new. Got mine for 60 new at guitar center
