In elementary school, we went on a field trip there. Rode the elevators all the way to the top floor, and

ate at Windows of the World. And, everytime you see a show or movie set in NYC before '01 the Twin Towers are there as a reminder how iconinc those skyscrapers were...All those innocent lives :to:

People cared about the towers named after Nelson and David Rockefeller and yet those weren't the ones who died in the buildings....:stopitslime:

not sure what you are getting at here.

the buildings dominated the landscape and were icons like the the Eiffel Tower, Niagra Falls, the Coliseum...
it was a part of NYC that people who lived there loved whether they knew it or not.

:whoa:

People loved the city for it's beautiful landscapes, food and diversity it wasn't about some towers. shyt last time I checked the Building that represented the city the most was the Empire State Building.

i love the Twin Towers.

i love the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Baxter Building...they are man made mountains that define the environment on a scale that has never been achieved before in human history.

it is only natural to mourn the loss despite who paid to have them built.
they became a part of the City and a part of our definition of it.

No disrespect but you might want to find love in something that has the ability to love you back.

i got that already.

but i can still love ideas, places, art... and endless non-sentient "things" that cannot love me back because these things represent ideas or feelings that i truly believe in.

Japan, but from the 989
Its crazy but think about what the country went through when those towers went down. Two wasted wars and a diminished standing in the world. Those towers meant something to the people of New York and the people of the United States. People can't even fly without taking off their shoes before going through "security". If you could time travel and tell people pre 9-11 about the amount of bullshyt we have to deal with today they would think you are crazy. And that fukk ass TSA. Its all like some sort of bad dream. I fly a lot and nothing pisses me off more than coming back in the country and having to deal with those a$$holes at TSA coming back in. And yes, they treat you like shyt. But I digress. I remember being able to go to Canada without needing a PASSPORT. Those Towers coming down was a sign of the bullshyt to come. Good thing we found those WMDs in IRAQ, killed Bin Laden in Tora Bora, stopped the Taliban, and gas is now 1.00 a gallon! Mission Accomplished........fukk!!!!!!!!!:snoop:

I turned 15 and saw the towers fall and witnessed the era of a new America....if you are an 80's baby you can't tell me this sh!t didn't traumatize you.
