Not even thread worthy. Film is an embarrassment.

this is the correct answer...

there's so many things wrong with rob zombie's remake, but how did he think making michael myers into an androgynous little white trash weirdo with typical sociopath tendencies was a good idea?

him and whatever studio head greenlighted that script deserves to be bytchslapped into unemployment...complete fukking blasphemy.

easily one of the best horror movies of all time.
as a matter of fact,..
all of zombies submission in horror are some of the best of all time and genre lengthening as well.
his evolution/elevation from house of 1000 corpses is an industry topper as far as talent.
especially, when considering the genre.

The first film was okay and it did try some unique things, but the second?:camby::camby::camby::camby:

conflict resolution after the doctor dies is the only bad part.
yet, why would you try to rate a horror movie out of genre and out of the realm of the type of movie it is.
past, the conclusion and the white horse dreamscape, movie is grade a horror.
plus, if you watch the movie with the extras and the commentary.
you see what you missed and it is even better.

There's a lot of shyt history will vindicate me on years from now, when I'm dead and buried. One of those things is how good Zombie's Halloween movies are.

H1 is not as good as H2, it's too experimental and intentionally not very good to watch because Zombie is doing something about celebrity worship of serial killers in it, about the ways that murderers are mythologized and the ways the reality doesn't match up with those myths. Analyzing Michael is unsatisfying because it takes that myth-level power away from him. In the original, he's The Shape. He just is. The remake's explanation reminds me of the ending to Psycho where they explain what's wrong with Norman, also an unsatisfying explanation. If anything, H1 is Zombie just trying to do what he did with The Devil's Rejects.

H2 though is great, as emotional a movie as the first two original Halloweens. He just completely lets loose and that's gonna turn people off, of course. I've said this before but if you have a negative reaction to Tarantino movies, you'll probably have an equally negative reaction to Zombie's movies. He's completely upfront about what his influences are and the fact that he's being self-indulgent. It all reaches a pretty perfect mix in Lords of Salem for me.

Nah the "Love Hurts" Montage, as he waited for his mom to come home was pretty dope. Remember she was a stripper.
That was one of the worst moments in the whole movie!
The fact that he even did a sad montage about Michael Myers' shytty childhood complete with a stripper mom montage was awful enough...doing it to Love Hurts just showed how much of a hack he was with no grasp of subtlety...and having it right before Myers kills a house full of people as if having a skank for a mom is some type of justifiable trigger to commit multiple homicides was just insulting.

I do not like the original series at all whatsoever.
the original are what my Gen, would title as the origins of phoney.
plus, lack that sumfin, that zombie better illustrates, imo.

just twoo better movies with an actual end to the series.
instead of, gosh lawd, Michael....
you have returned with that dumb ass doc, and skinnay ass Jaime lee crying and running.
I think people like seeing Jaime lee body and silhouette fleeing more than the actual first series movies.
the first series of movies are gawd awful, and Myers is not a fearsome scary enough icon in those to scare me.
maybe because I saw Freddie first.
who put the fear of the devil and any of his minions in a nikka.
by the time as a youngster you see Freddie first, and then mike Myers.
if is like this shyt phoney and Nancy has more hear than Jaime and this huff ass doctor.
in the second movie the doctor gets killed like he is supposed to, too.
the zombie movies make plausible sense outside of the white horse dreamscape.
not to mention this series of movies.
is what got me into viewing movie commentary ,as well.
so, I found out zombie's vision and meaning behind the dreamscape.

I think you viewed Myers, as an individual and that was zombie's intent. Of this was the other movie, with Myers as this ethereal big nikka who had no weakness and no real explanation besides the doctor flashback and him saying he had black eyes of the devil like the original.
I don't think any scene like that would have had any reaction from you from the original.
as, a matter of fact the originals are just there.
I don't really recall them in detail at all.
the originals are just a tolerable mishmash of parts.
the zombie remakes have a very clear distinct scope that I visualize and do not cut away from, or compartmentailize in short bursts of okay parts like the original.
in the zombie remake, I remember mike Myers and what actually took place in chronological order for two horror movies. For a mythical horror creature and movie that is a feat for me. As, typically some bullshyt I would have mentally discarded as a mechanism, against phoney shyt.

thanks for this thread.

I been meaning to make a hail zombie thread but I don't think many get his brilliance in the film genre.
As most critics are egghead software international film buffs.
who really do not know the other existing movie genres to properly rate any film out of the genre of their choice.
while, I actually rate any media within the confines of quality as it applies to the genre.
zombie is the first horror film maker who made real horror movies.
that made sense like a real horror movie and had real thriller elements.
that was not Hitchcock or a purposeful thriller.
in horror, zombie movies are up there with my love for Romero style zombie movies.

It started off brilliant but it went downhill as the movie went on and the 2nd one was a total turkey.

Agreed. Didn't realize its been 11 years since it came out. Rewatched it last week. Really like the upbringing of Michael Myers and all that. Honestly, that could've been a film of its own. The kid did a great job and I enjoy watching him at that age. The other part of the film was ok.

I really liked this scene
