Compared to what's supposedly hot these days it's not bad. :yeshrug: looking at the top 10 on iTunes I'll take this over all but Nas and Ross

really tho..I've said it once..I'll say it again..the nikkas dissing the album in the main thread were already dissing the album before they even pressed play. For SOME reason, the same nikkas that had their back when they were solo artist, and when they got together, turned on them.

Calling it "Laser" status is a just a :leostare:..nikkas forget that Lupe's album STILL went gold because he still had a FAN base that wanted to see him win no matter what. Even if the album sounded like shyt, they STILL brought it to support them.

With the exception of a few songs, the only thing thats the same on this album are these nikkas raw lyrics. I don't understand what you nikkas don't understand about that :leostare:

These nikkas are trying to cross over, like someone said in another thread. If they wanted to do a album like the last one they could have just stayed on their old label. Thats why they released that mixtape, just to keep you hipster nikkas happy cuz they knew the shyt storm was gonna come from their backpacking fans about this shyt.

Kinda sad this is how fickle hip-hop fans are in this era...:smh:

It really isn't the disaster that people are saying it is in that main thread. But, people will have their own opinion.

I'm befuddled by this post...because what I took away from it is:

"These dudes are clearly trying their damnedest to sell out, with absolutely no pretenses...and yeah sure, they made the messegeboard rippity rap version of Pink Friday/Adventures of Bobby Ray/Lasers and it's complete and total unlistenable cornball trash...and sure that's an complete 180 from their already corny and contrived "we're too real and supery dupery lyrical for the mainstream" steez that saved them from obscurity after years of struggles to be revelant in the first place....but what don't you people understand about that?"

:heh: ...I think EVERYBODY understands that...the point is that it's garbage though...what are people supposed to APPLAUD them for making a failed attempt at selling out? lol...not only did they fail to make a good album, but they're about to fail at selling out too...and it's OUR bad for calling that Ace of Spades a spade?

I just don't get how shady was in the interview last week or whenever it was talking about "hip hop needs this album right now"

but Skylar Grey on two tracks and the rest of it is poppy with weak beats

So we needed another LASERS?

It finishes strong. I think the best joint on there is "Goodbye", but I'm a sucker for that kinda beat and/or rapping.

However, on a lot of the production, there's just too much going on. Talk about busy beats, my fukkin God.... Some of their best joints are over very simple beats with basic yet hard drums. "The One". "Wack MCs". "Woodstock"
