I haven't listened as much as I did a few years ago cuz in those years I was in a car all day so I could listen to the radio more. But there used to be some good shows, Africa Now, We Are Still Not Free, etc etc, a lot of that Pro Black/Black Nationalist/Pan Africanist type shyt. I think they ended up changing the format a lot after moving their studios cuz when I listened to it again one day I heard a lot of callers complaining about problems with the station.

But yeah, they play DN live at 8 then again in the afternoon I ain't know they moved it to 5 it used to be 6.
I know, they seem to be changing the times so much its like they don't want you to know. My real opinion? They been infiltrated :manny:

Even tho they was asking for too much during them pledges. For $100 you get.. A DVD!!!
I also loved the fact if you ever tried to call in? You'd usually get on.
I chatted a few times with them, and I even got Wu-Tangs last album for free because they was like "The first 5 callers gets a free copy"

I called with like 3mins left in the show :russ:

lol I'm 100% sure they got infiltrated. I called into Community Comment one day and the topic was the two party system, I said that there should be a third party dedicated strictly to real progressive ideals and in effect work to fix the American democratic system since both parties had shifted much more to the right in the past few years. The very next day I had two PG County squad cars sitting right next to my mailbox. I'm no tinfoil hat wearer but that's a little to strange to be coincidence. At least they still talk about the same things.

But yeah, they be having some broke ass prizes for pledging. I only did it cuz I thought it was a worthwhile endeavor at the time.

I remember they had them kids from Georgia that were integrating their prom so that's a positive story. But I dunno, I suppose we just see it two different ways. I never looked at it as black people complaining or whatever they just speaking on the things that are hardly being spoken on. Its a lot of fukked up shyt goin on in the world, not just with black people, but they have positive and negative stories. So should people not discuss the Prison Industrial Complex or fukked up conditions in prison? Its good to have dialogue on things that don't get much attention.

And asking for money is because its independently owned. Its no different than having a membership pledge with public television, in fact its pretty much the same thing. And it counts as a tax write off. But most Americans view community or social economics with some suspicious eye as if they tryna swindle you. Nothing wrong with citizens collectively contributing to some shyt, we pay taxes to a government thats on some fukk shyt but no one dares to question it. Doesn't make sense to me to suddenly say "Well, no way I'll give you small increments of my money simply because I am an active viewer. Who made yall the gubmint" :mjpls:

Your right on one thing tho, its good to get info from both sides.

I'm about solutions.

everytime I turn to that radio station I develop a powerless feeling. The people on that station also have a tendency to group and lump black people with other racial minorities and I hate that with a passion. If black people aren't confident enough to stand on their own issues with out trying to attach themselves to other people than that's a sign of weakness.

None of those other racial group need black people to push their agenda. so why do black people need them to push their own agenda?

A lack of confidence is the reason.

It's best to get a balance of conservative and democratic talk radio so you can hear both sides and come to a logical conclusion instead of listening to that depressing radio station that makes you feel powerless.

D.N. Ive been listening to years with very great work on the prison systems, political parties, union workers, etc. Though I still listen to them, I've been critical of their work since 2011. When the so called "Arab Spring" was popping off especially for Egypt, they had hour specials with detail info and good analysis. Then came the Libya situation came along. Not only were citing unknown sources about the situation, they help spread the lies with only citing the Western Media newspapers and only included guests who were anti-Gaddafi and left the country 40 years ago. They never covered Libyans that were there or the independent journalists who were already there. Not only did they help spread the lies...they haven't even covered Libya since.
