It’s been this way since the late 90’s
Maybe to an extent…but with the advent of social media, etc… it made any and everybody a rapper, lol. It’s free/cheap to produce, you can put it out yourself, it’s 24/7 nonstop potential engagement and product, etc…

Social media popping off quenched our thirst for being gregarious as possible, as humans…but it also ruined and cheapened a whole lotta shhit. Qualifications mean less than nothing now, from journalism to rapping to having a platform in general, literally anybody with a phone and a relatable/likable personality can do all that. It’s Idiocracy out here kind of
