We were down to fetch and xfl and cfl level guys ALOT last year

We're now back in the mix as the best dt depth group in the league

Besides the price tag I like the signing. He does what Jernigan does but better. This also lets us rotate guys to keep them fresh. I know Fletcher wants to win the defense player of the year award but they gotta keep himself fresh for the forth when we need him.

Also this was 1000% a Schwartz call. Pass rush with a dominant Dline and hope the coverage holds.

I like the signing..Javon is an athletic fatty...not sure he has much pass rush moves but he has a quick first step and he is strong as an ox...'

btw- Eagles sure love FCS players as foundational pieces

He played NT so he was a space eater- I think he is an upgrade over Timmy, a good DT gon run you like 11-15M- I still think if we can draft someone like Marlon Davidson (if he slides to the second round) I would snatch him and play Malik Jackson more at DE than DT.

If he makes Cox and the pass rush better, he will be worth it. This organization knows how to do right by the offensive and defensive lines. I wasn't aware that Malik could be used on the outside. Makes even more sense then.

The money is still funny but its not over the top ridiculous.

yea malik has inside / outside flexability...I think the Eagles may draft a DT this year bc Fletcher is 30 and so is Malik- im glad we aint pay Byron 18M...that is OD...but if Miami likes playing dumb games...have at it

I'm feeling the same with Byron, I don't feel like he is worth that % of cap space... however...

I do recognize that I've been watching football over 20 years and a guy getting 15+ mil is more standard. I gotta readjust my thinking for these new contracts under this 198 milly hard cap.

How you gunna feel when we have Sidney, Strap and Maddox as our starters on opening day? lol

I have all but given up on Sidney, I would like to see him under a new CB coach and money has to put on 10 clean lbs- he is too light
I like Maddox but he was up and down last year- I dont wanna see him on the outside - either FS or slot.
We need another corner in FA and a draftee- Strap is decent but he is the Greg Ward of the secondary

Gonna have to run it back with another 1 year prove it deal to Darby and watch him be in perfect position but flail like a fish

i like the signing our DL might be more elite then our 2017. now both Graham & Barnett need to step out at DE & get sacks.

if howie can get Slay then ill be more then fine with our FAs. maybe even try to trade for Mike Evans i know they said he isnt on the market but its worth a shot.
