Ive seen teams try to do it :manny: when we played them aldon would stunt inside and try get some pressure quite many times

The thing is to do it consistenly without always having to blitz. Thats the difference with the Giants and Ravens today. Their linemen were able to tget teh pressure up the middle.

Not enough DT or NT who can pressure like that. Most are pluggers.

The reason why its tough to beat Brady and the Patriots is because they know what their weakness is, especially with pressure on Brady, that's why you see a lot of screens and dump offs with them. They utilize quick passes to beat their weakness before it beats them. I'm far from a Pats fan, FARRRRR from one, but I can give them kudos on that. But it seems when they get punched in the mouth repeatedly they don't have very good responses to that.

This is why I didn't understand why the Texans didn't line up JJ Watts on top of the center last week or stunt him up the middle.

It's not about sacking Brady.....it's about moving him left or right. He's soooo uncomfortable throwing off his spot.

but the Ravens were blitzing him today :dwillhuh:

Today was a little bit different because the Ravens didn't have to account for the threat of Gronk up the seam. That made a huge difference. But the Ravens were certainly getting a good push inside with their DTs, which is the key to neutralizing Brady.

If it was as easy as "blitz the shyt out of Brady up the middle", he wouldn't be as successful as he is because more teams would just copy that blueprint.

Brady in the regular season:

When Blitzed- 1,302 Yards (7.9 Y/A), 64.6% Completions, 15 TDs, 0 INTs, 119.5 QB Rating (Sacked 8 times)

It's more about getting inside pressure with your front 4 and collapsing the pocket. Problem is, very few teams have the personnel to pull it off. But the ones that do (Ravens, Giants, Niners) have had success.

The worst thing you can do is make him step up. He's as good as anybody at doing that and hitting receivers. he was never mobile but his pocket awareness was high as shyt. The way he used to sidestep preesure before the knee injury made him paranoid was :ohlawd:

I guarantee you those blitzes mostly came from outside and not the middle.

I wish there was a stat detailing where blitzes are coming from
