Brehs, I've been making beats on a tablet. I'm seriously thinking about a hardware/software setup.

What would be the most reasonable drum machine, computer, and software beat making program?

the way i look at it is this...

when someone is listening to a beat/song and feeling it, vibing out, singing along, whatever...they aren't really giving a single fukk about whether you clicked it in or not, or what daw you used, or how much you chopped up the sample, etc. they're just enjoying the music, which ultimately, is all that matters.

now of course, by nature, other producers and engineers and them may be more curious and critical about the process but even them, even us...when we hit play for that first time and our heads are nodding to some new dope track we never heard before, we're just fans purely enjoying the music just like everyone else.

i went through a phase where i thought x,y and z was "cheating" or something like that. but now, i'm just like :yeshrug: whatever fukking works, man. if it's good, it's good.

Ableton is nice. I started out on FL but I find with Ableton you have way more control and alot more ease creatively. Try a couple out, at the end of the day they all do the same thing.

only beat makers do this

in the club like
"whoooaaa this producer must of used a mini moog subass:takedat:"
"yoooo how da fuk did this guy bend the sample:ohhh:"

"yo i need to stop analyzing songs in the club , its not fun:ehh:..........let me walk to the bar...........OMG the mix on this song is really good, needs more reverb, maybe an eq on the low end tho :manny:"

I'm team point and click but I feel you. I feel the same way about sampling, loops and construction kits.

Literally every b3at I've made is point and clicked. I haven't touched a keyboard since high school. Hell, everything I've made in the last 3 years has been on my phones/tablet.

automating by hand is a pain in the ass. messing with knobs is more fun but i'm poor :mjcry:

I think it's more important to feel what ever you feel most comfortable with in your creative process, not worry about clicking in or using midi.

If you feel like you need to step up your key game then practice piano basics like scales to help you create

What DAW you use on the tablet, fam? I've been making all mine on my phone.
