I Kinda Feel Guilty When I "Point & Click" Produce...

For anyone who doesn't know what that is, it's when you produce a track entirely by clicking in the notes, drum patters, and such....it feels like cheating but, I can get the job done by doing it. It doesn't give me the same "this is mines" factor that I would get when I bang on some drum pads or pull out the midi keyboard. Anyone else feel like this?

Have to right now, bruh. My APC 40 fukked up on me and I commute to work a lot. So, I'll have to point and click to get it done on my laptop. fukk it. As long as that beat is a banger, I don't trip.

....sorry you feel that way, bruh, so theres a lack of emphasis when you created a song, so what, it's all about the concept you try to capture or replicate.....

Fully agree, never pointed and clicked. Don't feel the same satisfaction. I worship Dilla and Flylo, something about getting that swing and nodding your head while you bang on some drums man.

point and click use to be the ONLY way, I made tracks...at some point, It became the way I start the track...once i get a nice 4 or 8 bar skeleton, I flesh everything out, freestyling on the midi...its actually helped me learn how to play keys somewhat

when i was actually trying to learn, i just couldnt get it...but tapping around, i figured the shyt out...i suppose its like typing, where you do it so much that you no longer have to pay attention, you know where everything is.

but yeah, fukk how you made the track, fukk what you used...the end result all the matters

Tm88 clicks them in and they sound great. 808 mafia kind of masters the click in 808's

i really don't give a fukk. I don't even give a fukk if you got someone else to play or compose the whole beat to be honest. you're still the one who linked it all up based on your vision. People need to realize there's a difference between composing, beat making, and producing.
