OK I'm 13 episodes into the 1st season (Which means I've watched all the episodes before it went on a 3-month break because of the writer's strike) and like I mentioned before this show is a East Coast/NYC version of "The O.C.", from the same Creator/Producers/Writers/ShowRunners of "The O.C.".

:ahh: I'm LOVING this show because of that (& also because I recognize a lot of the cast from various movies & other TV shows). I gots to put some family members & friends who fukks with "The O.C." on this show, so I can have a discussion.

:sadcam: It's gonna be hard to put dudes onto a show called "Gossip Girl", though. The only chance to convince them is if they're already a fan of "The O.C.".

I was like that too. Then i reached towards the end of season 4 and I havent watched it in a month

:ohhh: It falls off that much? That's how I feel about another similar Warner Bros.-produced Teen Drama in "One Tree Hill". I fukks with the first 4 seasons, I didn't care for the direction they went in seasons 5 & 6, so I skipped out on the last 3 season (Season 7, 8, & 9).

While Gossip Girl definitely had its corny moments, there is actually some insight to be taken away.

Out of all the guys on the show, Chuck Bass was definitely the most alpha. Unlike the others, he usually was able to make decisions for himself and not get manipulated as easy as his friends(except when it came to Blair :snoop:). His issues with his father was both a gift and a curse. On one hand, it made him more independent and not care what others thought about him. At the same time, he had abandonment issues which may have led to his obsession with Blair in the first place. A real life Chuck Bass would of moved on long ago, but this is TV. The Chuck Bass's of the world usually get things done, while the Nate's and Dan's dream.

Chucks dad was also a alpha male. Notice how Serena's mom left her marriage with Rufus to get back with him. Bart lied to her, but she feels more "secure" with him than Rufus.

Nate had all the hoes, but was naive and clueless. Dan was the outsider who in a way was bitter. However, towards the end of the series he learned how the game was played and added his 2 cents.

If you have been around the rich "in crowd" chicks you will know the Blair and Serena types. It's kind of similar to the show Girls in that regard. However, Girls deals more with the "hiptser" typical Brooklyn type that is "rebelling" :comeon:. Gossip Girl dealt with chicks that come from money and not ashamed or afraid to flaunt it unlike the chicks on Girls.

:ohhh: Who is this nikka?! I just got done watching the pilot. At first, I though he's just an uppity, upper-class version of Barney Stinson (From "How I Met Your Mother"). Than I see this nikka forcing him self on chicks, which had me like :wtf:. Why isn't this nikka in jail?!
keep watching his character gets better :whew:

I just got done watching the 1st season a couple days ago. I now finally understand the "I'm Chuck Bass" gifs/memes that I've been seeing on the internet for years.

:russ: at this nikka doing the Wee-bay gif when his dad is telling about how responsible & mature he'll become now that he has a serious girlfriend.

:wow: That nikka threw them roses in the trash & flirted with the chick in the room with dat "I'm too young to be tied down to 1-chck" swag.
