fam that year heat stroke was on the news everywhere. At least 30 people died bruh. Dont matter if they young or old, down here aint nobody dying from that. And young people did die. I was up there that summer, working on a project with my uncle out in Hammond and this Latino cat died not to far from where we was at. He passed on the court playing basketball and never woke up.
True, but he couldnt work with the schools to close school for the day? And he's absolutely taking zero accountability.
That's crazy, I live in Minnesota where it's cold and snows for half the year and already they have cancelled a weeks worth of school due to poor weather/cold temps.Yeah they probably should've. They usually cancel school just at the threat of snow. Then everyone up north laughs. This time they didn't. Now it's really fukked up.
They're literally trying to lay 100% at his feet. He said that the simultaneous closings were a mistake. They know that salt trucks have been used on the city streets. They know he has no jurisdiction over the highways. The only footage they are showing is of the interstate. Everyone they interviewed refused to take the "who to blame" bait, so CNN personally has to ratchet the outrage. Yet, they haven't said the word Governor one time yet. And the condescending tone that these reporters are using on top of that is crazy disrespectful.Everyone trying to get home at the same exact time was the big mistake. But the Mayor came off bad in that interview by deflecting blame 100%.

This article points to at least 3 deaths in the south via heat stroke in that time period

Oh so you cant count young people playing a sport...but sickly elderly people countLOL...every year some HS dudes fall out in the practice and die from heat stroke. That has more to do with the culture of HS football down here and "win at all costs" attitude that some programs down here have. Texas aint the only state that can pack 10K plus into a HS stadium for a football game.
And you cant compare some 17 year old in full pads who has been practicing from 5 am until 3 pm with a pre-exisiting heart condition on top of it to random folks just falling over and dying just because the temp hit 95.
HS football here is brutal, and thats why we put out stars in college and the NFL left and right, while Chicago puts out scrubs like Donvan McNabb
TRY AGAIN!!!
This cac reporter talking to the mayor like a child, I don't really like that...I'm not familiar with him but that was a tad disrespectful
