When I was a cop, this woman called and says she thinks her daughter is getting scammed. I drive over and check it out. A fed-ex envelope has one cashier's check written out for thousands of dollars. Her job was to cash it and send back a couple hundred dollars and she could keep the rest. Fortunately, her mother called because the daughter was dumb enough to believe it. It was a check printed on a laser printer. It didn't have the weirdo reflective ink that you usually see on a cashier's check.
Plus, it was scissor cut. And, the fed-ex envelope was sent from Canada.
Other case, an older woman in her 50's does the same thing. But, she cashed the check and it bounced.
