This is true.. i think eventually we'll have similar rules and ppl bashin mods in time

Once money gets involved with advertising dollars. Everything will change. Its so demonic, friends. For now though, we can cake, eat and win.

That ad money... allstate doesnt want to advertise on a pornlinked jbo. I think this website will be a good case study

should be interesting in the coming months because when money is involved, things get real funny, real quick.

A slightly altered post I made in JBO:

The restrictions imposed on this sites will depend on the advertisers used, as long as the content on this site is legal we will be able to find plenty of accommodating advertisers.

You forget that the shyt holes of the internet have premium advertising on their sites; the likes of storm front, orge.com, motherless.com (known to host CP and AP) e.t.c. Trust me, this site is noting compared to the likes of those sites, yet they constantly pull in huge amounts from advertising.

In short; this site may decide not to change anything and still draw in large amounts of revenue through advertising, there is absolutely nothing to worry about.

Now the ads themselves will be crude, but I don't think that would be an issue to any of us, this is the coliseum after all.

The revolution of 1848 in france and europe. Karl marx wrote das kapital in that year. The basis for a workers revolution. As a historian this site just underwent a communist overthrow :krs: i support it but im interested to see where the for the people by the peole will go? Cant deny what i said though

So far the "leaders" of our "revolution" have remained idealistic, fair, and motivated in their leadership here. Time will tell how long that'll last.

I have faith :krs:

The downfall will be the first ban. Civilized society cannot exist without some limits and eventually someone will be banned. It is all downhill from there, as that limit will always be pushed further and further.

This. All the comparisons I see from everyone stating that it is an inevitability that restrictions as tight as the last forum are on the horizon, once ad money gets factored in as the site needs to pay for itself, always mention the likes of companies that of course would want nothing to do with anything other then a PG website, or a highly sanitized website full of censorship.

As Mountain Wolf points out above, there are a multitude of different offensive websites out there that have found advertising that works for them, and I'm sure that list could be expanded if anyone cared to do the research.

And that's only ad's. I'm not going to sit here and front like I know anything about this stuff, because I don't, but I think it's naive to assume the only way to make money with a site like this is through ad's. Maybe it is the case that the only real business model for these types of sites/forums are ad dollars, but until I know that definitively I am going to assume there are other models out there for them to look at as well. Just my two cents :yeshrug:
