The revolution of 1848 in france and europe. Karl marx wrote das kapital in that year. The basis for a workers revolution. As a historian this site just underwent a communist overthrow

They need to put realistic numbers up of what they're going to buy and how much they need. Do you want to keep the servers up or do you want to keep the servers up and make money. Dont be askin for everyone to pitch it x amount of dollars then pocketing a few g's because you feel we owe you. And if you do feel we owe you, let friends know.

i think its a bit of a reach to call average users on the site the proletariat though..this wasnt a workers revolution anymore than it was capitalism working itself through supply and demand.
not everyone was on the front line leading the cause to move to this site..most people probably just figured it was a better place to be in general, as opposed to having strong negative feelings towards the old place, although it is clear that those having negative feelings towards SOHH arent few in number..

Thats what makes us the proletariat. A few rebel rousers, with no mod power or any distinction from the rest of the "workers", lead a coup d'etat and usurp power in the name of everyone. Those few persuaded all of us to go along with them even though many of us didnt care one way or another. We just followed what was new and different. Some have legitimate gripes with SOHH, but i feel as a lot of the anger being shown towards it is forced. It just reeks of lenin and trotsky...

Wrong. Das Kapital (Vol. 1; German language) was written in 1867. Manifesto of the Communist Party was written in 1848.
