I'm saying we live in a maze designed for people to be a couple of checks from setting their alarms beneath an underpass, taking 2nd jobs and gig work to make ends meet, working 20-40 hours OT at their one job if possible. The time/opportunity for consistent self-care isn't attainable in general.

If I weren't allowed to be home and build towards home ownership I'd be right there going through those same motions to pay a 2-2.5K rent. America Inc. is designed to keep people in one gear:

Absolutely...I'm looking at half a million or better to live anywhere reasonable in my state. I'm not saying I'm getting one without a mortgage. But that's years down the line when A) I've climbed up my union's payscale and B) I've climbed up the seniority ladder so I have control over my hours and extra work as needed.

If I had a different mother I'd be attempting to live at work sweating and stomach grumbling if I can't get 80 hours a week because rent.

I don’t think it’s fear mongering at all. I’m very well aware of what another Trump presidency might bring. At the end of the day tho I know I have no control over that.
