The latest reports indicate that the situation between Rosa Mendes and Jackson Andrews is indeed a work. After the success of AJ as an on-screen character the WWE is said to have been looking to create another breakout female star. The storyline, that will portray Andrews as a psychotic ex-boyfriend, will ultimately be used as a vehicle to show female empowerment. Vince is said to have had the idea of using media sites such as TMZ to report on the angle after last week's uproar over AW's controversial Kobe Bryant remarks garnered mainstream media attention. As of this time Jackson Andrews has changed his Twitter handle to "ThaHoeSmackaJA", perhaps the biggest sign that this is in fact a work.

There was an incident involving WWE Diva Rosa Mendes — real name Milena Roucka — at the San Antonio International Airport in the last 24 hours, but not the rumor that has been making the rounds.

False rumors have been circulating this afternoon that Mendes was arrested after coming off a flight that landed in San Antonio, the site of tonight’s Monday Night Raw taping. However, a representative for the San Antonio Police Department tells us that Rosa was not arrested, rather she was the victim of a crime.

In a phone call to Diva Dirt, an officer for the SAPD confirms that Rosa was the victim of an assault in Las Vegas prior to flying out to San Antonio for tonight’s taping.

The report states that after landing in San Antonio, Rosa was spotted visibly upset in a public bathroom at the San Antonio International Airport. A concerned female passerby called the police on her behalf.

Pictures of her injuries were taken by the SAPD, according to the report, and she was given courtesy transportation to her hotel in San Antonio.

The officer reiterates that there is no mention of the alleged arrest for intoxication in the report.

UPDATE: TMZ has reported more details on the incident, reporting that the suspect in the assault is Mendes’ fiance, former WWE star Jackson Andrews.

We broke the story ... Slocum -- who wrestled under the name Jackson Andrews -- was named in a police report filed by Mendes, in which she claims Slocum beat her up on multiple occasions in the home they shared together in Vegas.

But the story REALLY came as a shock to a woman named Amber Stovall ... who thought she was EXCLUSIVELY engaged to Slocum ... who she had been dating for the past 4-and-a-half years.

“I was not aware of his double life with Rosa," Amber tells us ... adding, "I'm incredibly angry and I feel betrayed."

Amber -- who says the two shared a home in Houston and have two bulldogs -- tells us, "I was blindsided by the TMZ story. He had just flown me out to Vegas the weekend after July 4th and we made plans for him to return home to Houston at the end of August. “

For the record, Rosa -- who's a WWE Diva -- was in Texas on the weekend after July 4th ... when he flew Amber to Vegas. Basically, he pulled off a fiancee switcheroo.

Despite the lies, Amber insists Slocum was never violent with her ... telling us, "He's never even raised his voice to me."

Obviously, Amber has since called off the engagement ... noting, "He has not reached out to me despite my efforts to contact him since I found out about Rosa. So as of today, I have cut off all joint accounts which includes his cell phone."

Multiple calls to Andrews have not been returned ... and maybe now we know why.
