Its a paradigm shift that has been happening every since online dating but has really taken off in the social media age. I've talked about it here many times but 1 more time wont hurt.
Social Media and Online dating inherently lessens the value of women.
This is not women's fault or anything, its just the reality of the differences between men and women. The things that 90% of men are looking for in women can be easily displayed and portrayed by just about any woman on social media if her morals are low enough and she isn't butt ass ugly. She don't need to be a dime she can be a 5 and be dtf, men aren't that picky fr.
However, the things that 90% of women are looking for in a man either cannot be reliably portrayed on the internet or are traits held by so few men that its just more difficult to sift through.
For that reason women (who are naturally just as competitive as men no matter what anyone else tells you) find themselves in situation where all their hardwork, stature, finances, and education and looks can be upended tomorrow by a girl with a slightly fatter butt and slightly tighter figure.
This is not a reality men have to deal with.
-Women aren't leaving their BF to be with a man who has "sexier thirst traps on the gram"
-Women aren't leaving their husbands to be with a man who "is 1 inch taller"
-Women might leave their man to be with a guy who makes 3x as much money, but good luck reliably portraying that on social media. Alotta ppl stunt. And not every rich man is going to buy you a new bag.
TL;DR - Men are more visual and less picky than women. So social media has given them a wide berth of options. Women are less visual and more picky than men. Social media has given them scarcity and fear of loss.
This has created desperation in women that I have not seen in my entire life. This is night and day from 20 years ago. Women really fighting over whatever they can get.
