I have a proposal that could build equity in the black community within a reasonably short time

It would require someone who is not crooked and everyone would need to work together. The way it would work is every black person in America contributes $1 for every regular paycheck they get. You then take that money and buy a house starting with the people most in need that being people of very low income, single mothers, people in abusive relationships etc. If it was successful you could rinse and repeat to do things such as acquiring businesses transportation etc.

Min Farrakhan already proposed something similar called the nickel a day plan. Came out to hundreds of millions a year. And we could do it with social media. True grassroots activism and economics. We could also bump that up to a dime or 25 cents five days a week.

Starts at 8:50

True likely it will need a celebs or orators backing that people actually trust I think could be wrong though.

No sir that’s already going down the wrong road. We don’t need big names or talkers. This should be a true grassroots movement. All done on social media. No more than a qtr a day, regardless of how much you may wanna give. A dime or a quarter a day keeps everyone on the same plane.

Get some people to serve in a trustee capacity. We could start businesses and buy property and do whatever we choose, and operate the whole enterprise like a co-op or nonprofit.

A couple of us actually set this up some years back but we didn’t really have much more than a Facebook page. And of course after all the talking very few put up a dime, and we were ultimately only talking about 24 dollars a year.

It's noble but wouldn't work. Now if there was a National registry for all working slave descendents to pay a tax of say .5% of every pay check into a regulated fund that would be issued into a financial institution governed by elected officials. This fund would issue no interest loans/grants to qualifying business start ups and currently owned 51% slave decended american businesses of importance to a target area as studied by economic experts. Stuff like that is more feasible but it would never happen. What we need is for this who get it to live around each other and build from there.
this is actually a very good deal; ideally there would be some type of matching from the federal government (form of reparations?)

It's basically a national community foundation. There are probably 1000s of them. Targeting small and micro donations requires a lot of advertising to engage donors. Your best angle, at first, would probably be to connect with a black owned bank or credit union and create a campaign where people pledge x amount out of every direct deposit to create a habitat for humanity style fund.

edit: If you're serious and want to talk more just let me know. I work vendor side in fundraising and could maybe give you some pointers.

Not sure I totally agree but would be willing to do grassroots I like the idea of $1 a paycheck instead of 5 cents a day though that way depending on how you get paid you can contribute without it being a problem. Maybe have different options depending on the individual would work 5 cents a day, $30 a month $1 every few weeks etc.

There's not a single thing on earth preventing you from starting a small scale version of this tomorrow.
You underestimate how c00nISH black people are. I'd say less than 1% of us would ever in life want black folks to do good collectively from what I've observed. We probably will never get right. We can have one or two streets in each city we occupy for our communities and that's gonna be it. That's all we need honestly.

Like I said, there's nothing stopping you from acting on what you posted. You can wait on the world to change, or you can put action behind your words.
