I hated Lord of the Rings with a vengeance... Can i enjoy Game of Thrones?

Look I know its a pretty mainstream show and everything... but i've never fukked with any type of fantasy show or game (Excluding Zelda) and i dont really care for most pieces set in that environment.

Is the character development alone enough for me to enjoy it?

Anyone here try and watch it and feel it was some nerdy ass shet for white people?

just check out the first episode. if you don't like it cut it off . what i will say is that it's violent as fukk, has gratuitous nudity, an interesting storyline, and great acting. it's not a bunch of cacs casting spells and shyt it's different families warring with each other over the right to the throne. with some other crazy shyt thrown in for good measure.

The best part about GOT is that it's such an original show for TV. Anything can happen at anytime. And if you don't read the books like I do, it makes it more unpredictable. The fantasy part is really just a setting, it's the characters and the great plot that makes the show to me. Just watch the first ep and decide yourself.

GRRM's world does have black people which is some rare shyt

The Summer Isles are like a version to our Caribbean Islands and Sothoryos is based on Africa.

Unfortunately you're not going to see any mains that are black in the story and right now they are just backdrop characters. I wouldn't call the Dothraki black folk either.

More brothas who actually have a plot in the story will show up. Unless HBO decides to drop and switch characters.
