Nah I'd say Johnny is there too. When trasendence flopped. When Lone Ranger flopped. When mortecai flopped. There was a lot of ink spilled on what's wrong with Johnny depp and when will he start making good movies again etc etc. I don't know if we read the same writers but trust me breh, people have been shytting on Johnny and his mishaps for a couple years now. It's not as pronounced on this site but outside of it, definitely. I think here the disappointment with will comes from the roles he takes not the movie bombing. People want to be excited by his choices rather than being bored because In truth, what does him having a number one movie do for anyone here unless they're related to him? I really don't give a damn I just want to see him do movies that excite me and take some risks and go against type and he seems to be headed in that direction. But still I have no interest whatsoever in seeing this movie

Yeah but Johnny just really started having huge Box Office Hits over the last decade. Before that as we all know he worked on very artsy projects and it was more about his craft. He had hits here or there but it wasn't like he was opening #1 every single time like Tom or Will. Will and Tom have had Hit after Hit for a very long time. Don't get me wrong, I do think Johnny has a lot of pressure now cause he's had to many under performers If you look at Will's career. Every time he's went outside his zone, His Box Office dipped. It's interesting analyzing Will's Box Office starting with Bad Boys in 1995 which became his breakout hit movie to mainstream Audiences:

5/31/13 After Earth Sony $60,522,097 3,401 $27,520,040 3,401 16

18 movies in the last 20 years. Only 5 made less than 100 Million domestically. That's over 3.5 Billion domestically. Will is making History by the movie. "Focus" has a chance to be his 14th 100 Million Dollar film. Remember he's already grossed over 6.5 Billion at the Box Office Worldwide. Yep, A Black Male, Who started out as an Emcee/Rapper. 6 Billion at the Box Office.

Breh the reason people outside of this space kill Johnny more is because he's genuinely thought of as the best actor of his generation so its more disappointment. With will people seem bored

That's cause they want Will to take more risk. Remember some wanted Will to do "Django", but I understood why he said no. But what people are really saying is Will needs to work with some different Directors. It seems Will hand picks his directors. Some are Big some aren't. He he hasn't worked with a lot of the Greats. I honestly don't even think Will views himself as one of the Best Actors. But he has grown as an Actor since "Fresh Prince". Johnny been great since "Nightmare on Elm St", 30 years ago. He's just an amazing actor. I think Johnny is rebelling doing what he wants even though it's under performing. I haven't seen "Transedence" or this last one. He did have a hit with "Into the Woods" but he was supporting in that.

I wanted Will to do Django and disagreed with his reasons for not doing it but that's besides the point; you're right, he should take more risks and do things outside of the will smith box which is why the two projects he has lined up after this one interest me and this one just doesn't. Will clearly wants to be in that category of the best actors today because if not, he wouldn't do movies like Ali or Seven Pounds or Pursuit of happyness etc, movies where he can contend for oscars and really establish that he has chops and he does; Will is a great actor but he normally does saddle himself with roles or movies that aren't really pushing anything and he should stop handpicking his directors because those directors won't push for anything great to come out of him. There's a reason DiCaprio and Scorsese work or DeNiro and Scorsese work and it's because he pushes to get all time great performances out of them and out of his actors.

Johnny isn't rebelling against anything, he's just doing what he wants to do because he knows he can do a pirates of the caribbean movie and be set for life continuously. He's picking things that interest him even if they're not necessarily good or a hit and that's cool but at the same time, he's also become very routine. Like a role like Mortecai is a typical Depp role these days where he keeps trying to redo Jack Sparrow over and over just in different shades and again, people seem bored with it. The last time I was excited for a Johnny Depp movie was Public Enemies and that wasn't great by any means although he was great in it but that was back in 2009

Alright I take it back. Heat and inside man are great. Haven't see ronin. Still I'm just not interested in this movie unless the reviews are pretty damn good, then I might make my way to the theater. We'll have to see

this part:

In the OT levels, Hubbard explains how to reverse the effects of past-life trauma patterns that supposedly extend millions of years into the past.[133] Among these advanced teachings is the story of Xenu (sometimes Xemu), introduced as the tyrant ruler of the "Galactic Confederacy". According to this story, 75 million years ago Xenu brought billions of people to Earth in spacecraft resembling Douglas DC-8 airliners, stacked them around volcanoes and detonated hydrogen bombs in the volcanoes. The thetans then clustered together, stuck to the bodies of the living, and continue to do this today. Scientologists at advanced levels place considerable emphasis on isolating body thetans and neutralizing their ill effects.[134]

This Focus movie will do it for me :pachaha:

And I really like Will Smith and I think he can act circles around the majority of Hollywood, but I think like Travolta, his scientology mind and how the religion controls him makes him take these shytty sci-fi and romance movies and keeps him from actually showcasing his talent.
