The end goal would to be in a more natural state that doesn't cause women (and men I guess) so much stress. Humans are not monogamous by nature. The way monogamous relationships are structured its very not advantagous to women. It requires a lot of self sacrifice with not a lot in return.

Feminists don't really believe in equality, it's more of them viewing it as a compromise they can live with. They have no problem with a matriarchal system since it would put them in power, but patriarchy is something they can't live with.
