Pelinka and Bus had too much dip on they chip. They traded for AD and thought they had the next few years on lock. Then traded for Westbrook thinking they added more firepower but now they learned the ultimate lesson. It ain’t only about firepower but it’s about the right fit too

Russ that series:
19.8ppg on 42/26/54... 12.3 PER

And that was a noticeable improvement from how bad Russ was in the prior round vs OKC.

Idk how far LeBron and AD extended themselves trying to convince Pelinka to get dude, but they should be held accountable for that

esp with the Hield deal being nixed at the 11th hour. Not saying that woulda been a good trade or made this team better, but you at least coulda had some wiggle room to work with. Other thing trading for Russ fukked is that they couldn't fit any deals bigger than a vet min or MLE, except Caruso's potentially. Pelinka fukked that up, but other than that, this roster is strapped. Nothing you can do except move like THT plus 3 other guys for a good player
