nah it's much simpler than that democrats are just generally not scumbags. There are so many twisted characters, bitter entitled people in the GOP that they think they can do whatever they want. The democratic party is much to sane to do stupid shyt that goes nowhere.

I agree. I feel Conservatives believe they deserve to rule the country. In their heart of hearts, they believe the White House belongs to them. Therefore, anytime a democrat is in office, they(lawmakers and their backers) wild the fukk out.

Just my opinion... but the reason that the Democrats don't make a peep about it (even though they probably should) is because it would set a terrible congressional precedent where one party tries to impeach the other's president every time congress and the president are of different political parties. Can you imagine that shyt? EVERY DAMN ADMINISTRATION you'd hear some shyt like, "Oh, look at that. Obama deserves to be impeached because he ate a sandwich off of French bread instead of sourdough."

Now again, the Republicans deserved to be impeached when they were in office, but the reason that the Democrats didn't do that is because they were worried about setting such a politically poisonous precedent. If you thought that congress was hopelessly inefficient before, imagine having to go through this all the time. Unbearable.

There already is a precedent. The last Democrat in the White House was brought up on impeachment charges. The current one might be face charges in the House. The Democrats let WAR CRIMES go uncharged. Karl Rove has YET to testify about the Libby incident.

It's weakness in the Dems part.

Sane? How is not investigating war crimes and leaking CIA information considered sane?

Cowardly is what it is.

Uncertain grounds
One of the keys is the differences in how media outlets frame scandals.

Left leaning media typically introduces a scandal, then poses a question regarding its validity to their panelists, while right leaning media introduces a scandal, then frames the conversation of their panelists to talk about the ramifications immediately then move onto the extensions, deducing corrupt principle at the core thats symptomatic of a larger problem.

This feeds into the psyche of the parties. Dems are more passive/passive-aggressive and generally more demanding of acquiring a large consensus before game changers. Repubs are generally overtly aggressive and excessively stubborn in protecting their values and making them practical, evem if there is no consensus on what exactly those principles are.

I think the R's actually have a better model but are just embarassingly disorganized with no hierarchy.

they are still the dominant party in terms of controlling the message and theme.
.

really? i'd argue that such control is a myth, as shown by their unsuccessful attempt to unseat obama and retake the senate majority. the house, because of gerrymandering and rural districts, is always going to be difficult to maintain a majority in for the dems. but their message is failing at the national level.

I think it's in liberals' nature to be more concerned about things like fairness and equity (as evident with policies like progressive tax rates and affirmative action) than people on the right. So IMO they just tend to self-regulate themselves away from being as ruthless as conservatives (who, like you said, think they the White House should rightfully go to them therefore whatever they have to do to win is for the greater good).

It's been shown in studies that people who identify as conservatives (no offense to any conservatives on here) have a much easier time rationalizing away inequalities than people who identity as liberals. Kind of why things like income inequality bother liberals more than conservatives.
