I agree and disagree with you on the bolded. I'd say it's next to impossible to have that conversation with too many white people because nine times out of ten they'll use black on black crime as an excuse not to take a discussion about police brutality seriously. In that context it's used as a red herring as the truth is too uncomfortable for them and they need a reason to not acknowledge it. However to be fair, a reasonable argument can be made that the prevalence of Black on Black crime necessitates the need for a strong police presence in neighborhoods riddled with crime. With an increased police presence and subsequent response to reports and observations of possible crime, the likelihood for police to do things wrong increases as well. It's a direct case of cause and effect. Obviously the problem is much bigger than Black on Black crime and police brutality, but to ignore the correlation would be to put your head in the sand I think.
It should be mentioned some of these police (too many) still get it wrong when it comes to law abiding Black citizens minding their own business and doing nothing wrong.
I was with her until about 1:30 when she started that "you black people" shyt.
The people who are getting killed are usually not violent criminals (people who commit black on black crime) and most of the crimes they commit are misdemeanors. So the whole idea don't commit crimes and the police won't kill you is comical. She most likely see nothing with Tamir Rice, Jonathan Ferrell, or Sandra Bland being killed. I ignore these pro police folks because they are dangerous.

I dislike how she says "We" when talking about black lives. It really should be about attacking the mechanisms that allow children to resort to the behavior of which she's speaking.
The kids "teens" had to learn it from somewhere. They are ultimately held accountable for their actions by death, jail, having a tough life, etc. However, they were born into certain situations without being given the tools to combat. All children are not strong. SO for her to disregard black lives mattering because "black people are killing other black people" is kind of silly. My heart goes out to the little girl who was shot in her bedroom. It is completely unnecessary and senseless. But let's address the structures that perpetuate the killing.
