This is what happens when dominant society sees you as the top guy in rap. Your "art" gets coopted for commercial purposes you have no control over.

Its the price of the crown. Kendrick can either get with that and get in some Gap commercials or give the crown up. There isn't a middle ground on this,
because we don't really control the monetization of hip hop. We are just the test bed to tell dominant society what artists they should be taking advantage of in the moment.


Kendrick knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he made Not Like Us. This was his plan, it was the only way to thoroughly destroy and discredit Drake.

I’d bet he’s proud of the song’s popularity. Every performance, every award, every meme, every tik tok/facebook/twitter/instagram dance is another stake through his opponent’s heart.

This has always happened it’s just now social media will ruin a song way quicker because using certain songs on your videos gets you more views. This is that Outkast song Hollywood Divorce happening in 2025.

You either like a song or you don't, letting social media or another person "ruin" your personal preference of music just sounds like some bytch shyt
