I forget when this trend of of wearing tennis shoes with suits started... but it's like buying a Lexus and putting bicycle wheels on it

only type of shoes i would wear with a suit that aren't dress shoes would be some all white casual shoes like common projects achilles low. and that would be on some casual shyt. ive never done it but its an aight look imo.

CP's can definitely work especially if you wear a black pair. They're basically dress sneakers.

Agreed OP. I noticed how goofy it looked when perusing an article about the ESPY awards:

Above the fray.
I think it's tacky. Russell Simmons was the first celeb that I remember doing this, but that was decades ago. Not sure which celeb made it into such a big trend the past few years.

Retro Jordan’s in suits is the real crime. They are too bulky and look funny with a suit. Grown/old men like Skip Bayless looks ridiculous when he has the Jordan’s on with his suits.

I think there’s a very niche case where this looks good. I mean casual suit, no tie, no button down shirt and a tee instead. Basic sneaker.

But most of the time it’s a full up dress suit and tie with some dunks or Jordan’s which doesn’t look good to me.

*has zero sympathy for men talking about shoes hurting*

:childplease:

I like to think we are more practical when it comes to fashion. We should have been got rid of hard bottoms. The fact that we are still wearing shoes with hard leather soles that mimic wooden clogs in 2023 is ridiculous.

And what the hell do you call this same construction except adding a 4-5” pencil width heel to the back….don’t talk to me about uncomfortable and impractical!!

Oh, I should have made it clear I was referring to men….Of course women are not practical when it comes to fashion. :heh:

Tennis shoes were created by Europeans brother. So were suits. So this is all kinda moot.
Tennis or athletic shoes as worn by my demographic are created by black designers. Also there is the comfort level and nuances of anatomy and lifestyle. So yeah, moot point.
