I wouldn't be surprised if part of the issue is that Schiano is the "new jack" college coach who should have knelt down before Boss Don Coughlin. For some reason I don't think Coughlin would have gone out his way to go so hard if it had been an established coach like Belichick or McCarthy.

I said in the gameday thread that if u subscribe to the anything could happen with 5 sec's left theory (ie: botched snap, Eli fumble), then why not apply this when the Giants had the ball @ the 11 yd line with 1:20 in the game (yes I already know they did it to get the ball back so they would have time for 1 last drive) the Buc's just let them walk into the endzone. Once again same rules apply anything could happen if they D up (ie: a botched snap, botched handoff, fumble by the RB) and if you force a FG it's not a automatic win (botched snap, blocked kick, missed kick like in NE).

I dont take it as a big deal bc I know it will settle itself, like someone else said it opens up a can of worms and when teams start to bypass the "unwritten rules" with them let's see how they like it.

The Giants o-line lost. They should've seen the ENTIRE Bucs d-line ready to fire and got themselves ready....

The N.O
so is there something wrong if the Bucs come away with the ball on that play.

shyt is so back asswards to me. we get on Schiano for telling his team to make a play but treat Josh Morgan like shyt when Courtlan Finnigan was the one that started the shyt with him.

i don't fault him for his team playing the whole 60 minutes of the game shyt it wasn't that long ago the eagles beat the giants on a kneel down play

and nyc rebel is right they should have paid attention and seen it coming and protected their qb at all times its not flag football

Miracle at the Meadowlands wasn't a kneel down play...in fact, that play is part of the reason why teams do the kneel down now instead of just running a play.

That aside, I think Reb is right that the O-line should have done a better job of reading what TB was going to do there.

Eli said in an interview that in those situations, alot of times they will tell the D-line or the D-line will ask whether or not the Offense is gonna just kneel on the ball or not. Eli said he told them they were taking a knee and they still fired out low for the ball....O-line should have seen they what they were trying to do and not relaxed there. Someone could have gotten hurt, thankfully nobody did.

Next Time Tampa's D-Line gets in that type of formation, I'd tell my O'Line to kick/Knee them in the head.

Concuss half those b*stards and see if they'll try it again.

I don't have a problem with it but I think it was telling that the Bucs defensive players didn't seem that pleased they were asked to do it.

It's whatever at this point, I'd be tight 2 if I got roasted for 25 points in the 4th quarter :skip:

It's just funny to see TB save their best pass rush for a QB kneel with 5 secs left...infact that QB kneel was the closest TB got to Eli all game :lolbron:

Coach Schiano :salute:

Play until the clock hits 00:00 :manny:

Theres a reason why teams rarely do this it's bush league . The bucs went at the linesman knees they didn't try to jump over or push back. Even Antonio pierce said its ok he's done it a few times before but when asked if he went helmet to knees he said no he doesn't do that. No one says don't play Hard but they tried a cheap tactic after Eli said he's taking a knee and the buc players apologized . It was a bad move that opens up your team for retaliation . Schiano was probably mad that catch was reversed
