I finally bought New Balance sneakers. Where is my flabby and sick membership card?

New Balance have hit the cool guy sweet spot the last year or two. Why tho? What set it off for them?
Nike and Addidas no longer having Kanye/Virgil for ideas and marketing. I barely even see people dedicated to any of the shoe brands like how it used to be 5/10 years ago, that shyt is over

You trippin. New Balance is killing now lol. I’m snatching up all the ones I can find. They used to just look like old man shoes.

Nah a lot of them still do and that's fine. Nothing changed just your perception. When something becomes cool it's crazy what the mind does to it's image.

Nike got too many classics to ever be over. Jordan's, Dunks, AF1s, Air Max, LeBrons, KDs, Blazers, Cortez, Cross Trainers, ACGs, Prestos, Frees

I can't really speak to Adidas as I never been into those like that. But Nike's are timeless. They are never going out.

Yup, forgot Asics.

Asics, Brooks, NBs.

everything else is trash bin status for running/walking.

Even Skechers are better than Nike and Adidas as crazy as that sounds.
Not true at all. Old wives tales respectfully that are extremely outdated. I worked as a running specialist with an podiatrists in my city to break this myth and that was over 10 years ago. We did run clubs with Nike and let people compare any other shoes run up to 5k. Most people don't know that they just buy the wrong shoes for their feet.

If you look at modern running lines from all the shoes you just named they all look like Nikes. No longer is NB doing the highly structured mid 2000 runners. Most of em got the textile synthetic uppers that are without the stitches. All these innovations mine was doing years ago that were called gimmicky have been adopted across the running shoe industry today.

I always remind you guys that Nike has the best athletes in the world training in their stuff.. .y job used to entail knowing shoes and tech inside out as well as fit. Doing gait analysis per individual and making tailor fit recommendations. It's so grating to still hear people running with bogus facts invented by the elitists in the running community.

One of these shoe brands is not better than the other in general. It all depends on your individual needs. Have wide feet. NB specializes in widths for example. That doesn't mean they are better than Nike but would serve someone with that specific need better based on options. I walk more than most people. My walking shoe collection includes all those brands. There is minimal difference besides wear over time if you buy the right models.

didn't say they were, literally said the energy is nowhere near what it used to be for shoe brands in general

the whole hype around sneaker culture BEEN dead, you know how it used to be breh. You talking about the classics is my point, they were really leaning on Kanye/Virgil to keep the new shyt fresh

one day the culture gonna have a discussion on how Kanye got everyone in comfortable chunky sole shoes nationwide too :wow: that's crazy to think about

Interesting, now I have gone to Jack Rabbit which is a specialty store for runners in NYC. And they downed Nike's to saying all their running shoes have 'bounce' while other brands like NB, ASICS, etc. provide variety in that regard. Some runners like bounce some don't, depends on your preference.

OK gotcha, yes and I have heard resellers like StockX, Stadium Goods have had to lower their prices due to a lack of demand. Sneaker culture is definitely cooling off.

Travis Scott has one final Nike Colab and he supposed to be gone, the Drake nocta shyt is ass, and for Adidas Pharrell's stuff can be hit or miss, and the Jerry Leronzo stuff is just Fear of God with 3 stripes

those beef and broccoli 993s went hard tho, one of my favorite pairs
nah, they've been short-staffed here in the states...because they make them here. In fact, they are adding jobs to the facility in Maine and are currently hiring
