It's a tough break for young female actresses. Notice Natalie Portman disappeared. Not to say either of their careers are over, but there's a small window for them to be the "it girl" and win an Oscar and really capitalize on that, otherwise just another attractive woman in Hollywood

Hollywood usually has an "IT" girl. They use her for a few years in big features and then poof:she's gone. The good actresses find a way to keep eating. Look at Jennifer Lawrence after those photos of her being debased came out... Her buzz has dropped a level or two already and she's only what 25?

She's 30, actually (Scarlett Johansson).

Still looks good to me. :manny:

'Avengers' Cast And Stingy Marvel Ready To Rumble Over Sequel Cash & Strong-Arming

The Avengers Made HOW MUCH in Their First Roles?

Chris Evans, a.k.a. Captain America

Avengers: Age of Ultron
Salary: Due to his having signed a multi-picture deal, Evans 'only' made around $7 million for Age of Ultron, though that's likely to have gone up with a decently sized back end deal.

Chris Hemsworth, a.k.a. Thor

Avengers: Age of Ultron
Salary: Being ever-so-slightly less bankable, it's perhaps not too surprising that Chris Hemsworth reportedly made slightly less for Age of Ultron than his Cap-playing co-star - but still netted over $5 million, plus back end points.

Mark Ruffalo, a.k.a. The Hulk

Avengers: Age of Ultron
Salary: Despite the sheer quantity of motion capture work required for the role - or, perhaps, because of it - Mark Ruffalo reportedly'only' pulled in around $3 million (plus add ons) for Age of Ultron.

Jeremy Renner, a.k.a. Hawkeye

Avengers: Age of Ultron
Salary: After taking on leading roles in the likes ofMission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and The Bourne Legacy, Renner's salary wasbelieved to be around $5 million for Age of Ultron, along with the (now traditional) percentage of the back end.

Scarlett Johansson, a.k.a. Black Widow

Avengers: Age of Ultron
Salary: She may routinely miss out on appearing on Marvel merchandising, but Johansson is actually among the better paid Marvel cast-members, with here reported $6 million salary for The Avengers rising, according to some reports, to $20 million for Age of Ultron.
Everyone knows they aren't being paid as highly as they should I asked for details of RDJ going to bat for his cast to have a pay rise as you stated

To counter, I’ve learned the Avengers cast are becoming united behind Robert Downey Jr who is seen as the “leader” – like “a big brother” in the words of one rep – for all the younger actors in the ensemble. “He’s the only guy with real power in this situation. and balls of steel, too. He’s already sent a message that he’s not going to work for a place where they treat his colleagues like shyt,” one source explains.

I thought the fact RDJ fought for the others before "Ultron" was pretty known but here's a few different sources saying the same thing...

Robert Downey Jr. Playing Hardball During Avengers 2 Contract Negotiations

Downey Jr wants better pay for Avengers

Robert Downey Jr is reportedly campaigning for his Avengers co-stars to get a pay rise for the sequel.

The Iron Man 3 star, who received a staggering $50 million pay cheque for the first film, is fighting for his co-stars – who only got a paltry $200,000 – to get a cash boost, accordng to Deadline.

The Avengers cast including Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L Jackson are now demanding $5 million upfront plus back-end options but Marvel are threatening to recast.

But Downey Jr – who Marvel are keen to see return in Avengers 2 – is refusing to sign up to the sequel unless his co-stars get a better deal.

He recently revealed that his contract with Marvel has expired sparking speculation that he wouldn’t be back for Iron Man 4.

A source said: ‘He’s the only guy with real power in this situation. And balls of steel, too. He’s already sent a message that he’s not going to work for a place where they treat his colleagues like s***.’
