Why are you comparing Race to Witch Mountain money in comparison to the typical Statham movie? Statham mostly makes r rated action movies of course that isn't making the money a pg Disney movie is making.

They rewrote the script for GI Joe 2 to build the movie around Channing Tatum after all the success he had in 2012, they went back and reshot a lot of scenes which is why the movie got pushed back a couple times..

they definitely added more scenes because in the first script channing was killed off towards the beginning of the movie.. when he started having all the success with 21 jumpstreet, magic mike and some rom com he did all grossing over $100M they expanded his role to heavily feature him.. theres an article on deadline hollywood about it
