I don't understand this whole, 'ageing' thing with music?

Ohhhh so because it came out 10 years ago you can't listen to it because something 'aged' badly? :why:

:pacspit: Music changes, why does your taste? Stop dikkriding waves and listen to whatever you stupid ignorant children.

All that means is that the music was following trends of its time and as a result sounds bad now that the trends have changed

Music that, 'trends' and lacks originality sounds horseshyt from the day it comes out. It doesn't need a decade of fermenting for us to realise. :comeon:

Embarrassing rap fans just love hating on anything they don't love

They only say this because they weren’t around when it dropped….it’s their way of shytting on the past because they weren’t around to comment on it with any semblance of foundation.

Cause, yunno, in TODAY’s hip-hop, reverence for the past is considered ridiculous.

And anyway, this isn't exclusive to rap.

Depending on the PERIOD that a piece of music came out, yes, it most certainly can sound dated.

So what.....they don't think some of those hair band songs from the 80s sound dated as fukk now? Don't think 90s grunge sounds dated? Don't think some mid-1980s R&B - complete with synthesizer backing - sounds dated today?

I came across that old Michael Cooper album while downloading MP3s to my phone (yunno, the one with "Dinner For Two" and "Oceans Wide" on it?)...I was like "OH shyt, THIS WAS MY JOINT!"

I played them shyts, man.... :snoop:

Synthesized hell.....

I think the terms mean that the music was hot back then but you cant listen to it now because it just doesn't excite you anymore.

This happens with songs made off of a trend...like "Lean wit it, Rock wit it" was a hot ass song back then cause I was in the parties/clubs and it was fun to listen to...it was a fad.

Im older now and that fad expired so I don't get that hype off the song unless its nostalgia. Now music from 2pac, Biggie, Scarface, Jay-Z and Nas are, in most cases, songs that age well because the styles weren't based on a fad. Its based on emotion and creativity which never go out of style.

*pretends this is how op saw it to avoid the 1 star/nr*

Music. timeless. every genre has classics from all decades. I don't think anyone who's heard music just somehow wasn't exposed to previous generations of music. If that's the case, what are you doing letting them hold a conversation with you? :childplease:
