Does he perform new material in each city or is comedy like music where u just perform the same sh1t everywhere u go?

:dwillhuh:

From my understanding of it its like when a band goes on tour and they do pretty much the same material at each venue but when he goes on tour the next time around its new material. There is a little variation though, for example he grew up in the Boston area (saw him in Boston) so he talked about that for a while which is probably something he doesn't do at other venues.

That being said he may switch up his material a lot from day to day because his timing is so smooth now you get the sense he knows exactly which direction to take the crowd in.

I have not heard a whole lot of older Louis C.K. stand up but I did not hear one recycled joke during the show so I think it is all new material, he probably will have some type of special coming out via DVD or webcast once his tour is done.

I wish I had taken my dad to the show. The entire time I was sitting there feeling :blessed:

It's funny you use that smiley because Louis CKs comedy is usually very depressing and nihilistic, which is why I like it.

Watching his standup usually leaves me with

Like I said I haven't seen much of his older stuff. and some of the stuff I have seen I wasn't a huge fan of. I basically bought tickets to see him off the strength of watching his TV show. I agree that some of his stuff had a nihilistic aspect to it but nothing about the show was depressing. Which was nice because so many comedians can make you laugh but at the same time make you feel :shaq2: (like Bill Hicks for example).

You get the chance to see him live, definitely do it. He sells his tickets privately too which is awesome because you don't get hit with like 12$ in fees like LiveNation does :pacspit:

If you've followed him for a minute you would have known that. He was born n raised in Mexico until about 6-7 if I remember correctly.

He's my 3rd favourite stand-up of all time for what it's worth

Mexican is not a race :snoop:

A mexican can be fully black of african origin and fully white of european origin. 16% of mexico is fully white.
Many mexicans are mix native american and white.
One of my friends in college was a black Mexican.

Because he doesn't resemble a East LA holmes. :skip:

My mother's Costa Rican, but if you saw her you'd think she's a Jamaican. :krs:
She probably is of Jamaican descent. Jamaicans immigrants traveled to Panama and Costa Rica in the 19th century to work on the railroads etc.

Shut up talking to me. A nikka that chooses to go by the name Cockmeat Sandwich doesn't need to be addressing me.
If you didn't watch the video, you shouldn't be addressing shyt fakkit :umad:
So his dad is not full blooded mexican(indian/spanish blood)? Or u just guessing?
Well...
Here's an excerpt from an interview done by Tavis Smiley:

Louis CK

Tavis: Did I read - I'm sure I read this somewhere and I don't believe everything I read, but I think this is true. English is not your first language?

Louis C.K.: That's right. Spanish.

Tavis: How (laughter)? I don't mean how. I mean, I know how. I'm just like I never had any idea.

Louis C.K.: I'm curious what makes that so surprising to you.

Tavis: I mean, because you're - I guess it's the way that so many of us got introduced to you comedically. You know, it's possible, obviously. I just never thought of you - I don't know. I didn't process it that way.

Louis C.K.: Well, it's interesting. My dad is Mexican, so I'm Mexican. I'm half Mexican. It's always been interesting to me. It's been an interesting part of my life experience. Yeah, my dad was Mexican and moved here - well, he came here to go to summer school and met my mother, who's American.

But anyway, we lived there for a lot of years. I was born here, but we lived there from when I was like a baby until I was about seven years old and that's where still my grandmother and everybody in my whole family is there. But because of the way that I look, I wouldn't be pegged as a Mexican, which is interesting because I'm more Mexican than a lot of people that are known as Mexicans, you know.

I lived in Mexico, my dad's Mexican, I have a Mexican passport, I have citizenship there.
If you've followed him for a minute you would have known that. He was born n raised in Mexico until about 6-7 if I remember correctly.

I have followed him for close to a decade, and I didn't know that.
Did he ever bring this up in one of his standups? Which one?

Louie is a funny dude. I know I've said this in other threads, but you should listen to some of his Opie and Anthony appearances. Especially the ones where he destroys Bill Donohue, clowns Donald Rumsfield ... and ESPECIALLY when he shyts on Paul O's movie The Gap. Holy shyt I've never laughed so hard.

Here's the entire show. Louie is brilliant for the entire thing, but they don't start talking about the movie until the 1 hr 25 min mark or so ... but if you got 3 hours to burn, listen to the entire thing.

*edit* Also, do yourself a favor, and listen to this interview with Donald Rumsfeld. Too funny.

I'm not sure he's brought it up in his stand-up, but if you've listened to him on O&A he's brought it up a few times.

Patrice called him Louis SpiCK lol
