I couldve swore blackout was gonna be a bigger hit than it has been.

No one was saying it was going to kill fortnite but they were saying it would kill pubg which it has a little bit, not completely obviously..but shroud went from playing nothing but pubg to nothing but black out. Fortnite will never be threatened imo, it's too well made and unique even though I don't really like the game much because I hate building.

Also Fortnite being free to play has nothing to do with viewers on Twitch and the staying power the community has. There have been many free games that didn’t have the popularity Fortnite does and it all comes down to gameplay mechanics, and how fun the game is. Epic doing a decent job keeping things fresh and updating as well.
