And the thing is, if we choose to go by that then most Western blacks (descendants of slaves in South America, the Caribbean and North America) would not be considered black cause most of us have some European or native dna in us.
In her case idk she's certainly biracial. But at what point do we define others with more complex mixtures belonging to one race or the other or biracial.

That's sometimes true. Or other people who feel their "blackness" is in question e.g. people who grew up in white suburbs, PAWGed or swirled, and subconsciously (and incorrectly)feel they aren't "black" enough

Right. I think part of the issue is that we got so used to white people defining our existence, that we never realized we could do it ourselves once they were no longer imposing it on us through force. It’s gonna take black people decades to undue the harm.
In a sick way, it reminds me of those psych expirements that psychologists did in the 20s(I think dudes name was Skinner but not sure), where they would turn on a light and mouse would get shocked by electricity a few sec later. After a few dozen times, the mouse learned to anticipate a shock (when a light blinked) and jump away before the shock.
However, this defense mechanism got so extreme, that the mouse would jump after a blinking light even WITHOUT the electric shock stimuli following it. The researchers kept hoping the mouse would snap out of it, but many of the mice kept jumping and jumping and jumping (after the blinking light) until they literally died of exhaustion. They died because they were still responding to a stimuli that the white researchers were no longer imposing on them.
I fear black folk are just like the mice responding to stimuli that are no longer being imposed on us. domestically(one drop) and even abroad(South Africans and colored system/ Brazilians and mulato system) are following these maladaptive classifications without the pain of Jim Crow, apartheid,etc being imposed on us

Yeah but in that instance it’s a gauging of someone’s adherence to the culture which EVERY culture does. Similar to how Mexicans that don’t speak Spanish are ostracized by Mexicans who do. Black Americans in particular have been too lax in this regard which is why we have so many c00ns, intersectionalists, immigrants, and LGBTs trying to speak on our behalf and set our agenda.
