Here's the thing. 3D in this era is very gimmicky. James Cameron was really the only one to do it right cause he made "Avatar" a 3D experience. You felt like you were in Pandora watching that film. Now 3D is done to make more money at the box office. That why Box office is becoming more irrelevent cause it's hugely inflated. Theaters aren't selling as many tickets as they were selling 10 years ago but box office keeps going up and up cause of inflation not cause of ticket sales. 3D is just a way for studios to pad their stats. "Avatar" did 2.9 Billion Worldwide, I'm sorry even if you take the 3D it still would of broken records, that shows you it didn't just impact, it connected deeply with society's consious. Also it was a good movie. So I can't wait for "Avatar 2" so James can show these people how to do 3D. The biggest issue is most 3D films are post-converted and not shot in 3D and that effects the quality to me.

Avatar still the only movie worth watching in 3D...Life of Pi I didn't see in teathers but I could see that being nice in 3D too. Other than that its been nothing but a scam for more box office money....I avoid 3D showings and at this point if a movie's 3D only I don't go to it at all unless its a must see.

i've noticed alot of movie projectors have stupid ass customized settings like sharpness down low, extra saturated colors, and high cool tones that give whites a shade of blue what the fukk for? :manny:

there should be standardized movie projector settings nationwide :usure:

i can see why most people agree the best movie experiences are at home nowadays :smugdraper:

Co-sign. Though I thought Prometheus had fantastic 3D as well, the difference was James Cameron used that 3D to completely immerse you in this Alien world, and it worked insanely well. I've never had a movie going EXPERIENCE like Avatar. The Hobbit was gorgeous, as well.

48FPS is supposed to drastically cut down on eye strain (what the hobbit was filmed in).

I have a friend who can't even see 3D.. I don't understand how that's possible.

I saw Life Of Pi in 3D twice, because it was epic as fukk.

I saw Jurassic Park in 3D because that was the only way I could see it.

Other than, I avoid 3D like AIDS.

I hate that they use that "subtle" 3D shyt. If I'm paying for 3D I want to see shyt flying all over the place throughout the movie - not some bullshyt ass depth effect.
