This nikka Gil is so hurt by this game. Dude's been dismissing Houston all offseason & is adamant OKC is a better team. :mjlol:

Like I told you, Mbah A Moute & PJ Tucker were both huge acquisitions for their defense alone. They gonna eat playing in D'Antoni's system alongside 2 of the 3 best passers in the League as well.

Also, CP3 was playing on a bum ankle tonight, he'll be fine. He's too great of a player not to fit into this team. His defense & hustle started the comeback in the 4th.

But here's the thing, you can't take issue with Durant doing what he did, and then ignore that LeBron formed a superteam in the East with two of the best players from the EC (Wade and Bosh); reducing the competition, and then did the same when he went back to Cleveland. So it's all good if LeBron makes the "conscious decision" by surrounding himself with the best talent and sleepwalks through the Eastern Conference to the Finals without any resistance, but it's fine for teams in the Western Conference to beat each other up on the way to the finals, softening themselves up for LeBron's team?

Durant just smartened up and followed LeBron's lead. You can't be mad at him and not LeBron.
I understand and I agree to an extent but I think there's some nuance that needs to be accounted for. I am not opposed to a player controlling his own destiny, every player is well in their own right to sign with whoever they choose. I also don't take issue with a player influencing personnel decisions like Lebron has over the years. However, I hate to be one of those guys, but context is everything. When Lebron joined the Heat: Yes he formed a superteam but he did not join a superteam. That does matter. Miami was not a playoff team prior to Lebron and Bosh landing there and the team essentially gutted much of their roster in order to be able to sign them. This situation is much more comparable to what Boston did.

KD, probably the best player in the world, decides to join a team that should have had back to back championships, set the regular season record for win totals, and was already home to the first unanimous MVP. He wasn't forming a superteam he was joining a superteam. He was implemented into an already uber-successful system. I say this as someone that is A. a huge fan of some of the players on the team (mainly Curry and Draymond) and B. someone that acknowledges KD's fundamental right to be able to join the Warriors. However, the competitive balance has been altered and it's just disingenuous to say that the league has not been negatively effected by his decision.

Let me ask you this, even with the differences you believe between LeBron's and Durant's decision - which team has the easier road to the Finals?
