It WAS a genuinely hilarious TV program and the edgy comedy was something fresh for a show that followed The Simpsons as it was falling off.

But now it's dated and samey, they need to either cancel it or just get a new concept.

The only thing really funny about Family Guy to me is Peter Griffin's voice. I don't know, I could listen to Seth Mac read quantum physics lectures in that voice and I'd be :heh:

Other than that, the show is :trash:

The first three seasons are dope. as soon as it came back from cancellation tho it became meh status. I watched the Pawtucket Pat episode on tbs the other day and that is still hilarious. The show isn't like that anymore and hasn't been in years. It's become exactly what South Park said it is

The only characters holding that show up nowadays is the Stewie and Brian tandem. Everything else is bushes status...

The fukked up thing is that the first two seasons are genuinely funny. When it was resurrected you still had funny episodes here and there but Seth Mcfarlane ran out of good ideas a LOOOOOONNGGGG while ago. The last time I remember TRULY enjoying entire episodes was when they were doing the Star Wars parodies

I'd say the first 5 seasons are some of the best comedy cartoon I've ever seen. South Park dished out the ether on it though and completely destroyed the entire show for me. they broke down the creative process artistically and hilariously. Now that I think about it, that South Park episode may have had a lingering unconscious effect on me.:patrice:

Sidenote: South Park is terrible now as well and I have literally no desire to watch any more episodes of it.

The show over time began to rely too much on shock value and shock humor and got lame. Even at its peak, the show was average at best.

I could never get into it even at its popular height. The silly cutaway scenes do nothing for me
And it must not have been as good as I thought it was because it old episodes don't have that replay value for me.
I can watch reruns of South Park and The Simpsons (the good seasons) all day.
This is exactly how I'm feeling. I used to argue with people even during Family Guy's "good" years how dimwitted the shyt was. It was literally the Lil Wayne of TV (no offense to Tunchi). Instead of verses that jumped from subject to subject it was a show with no structure for the most part.
Them cut scenes? Some gave you a GOOD laugh, but once you knew they were coming... shyt had NO replay value.

Gimme Simpsons and Southpark antics over it any day.
