Its more or less the new "Loose Cannon" gimmick everyone is clamoring for over rather than Ambrose himself. It would be the same if they hired Sami Callihan for the job instead.

He has a character that goes against the grain with the current product. I dont mind him jobbin as long as he is given sufficient mic time to get himself over. Dude has potential to create interest in a currently uninteresting product.

A year ago Seth Rollins was the IWC golden boy of the future, and look what's happened to him. I highly doubt Ambrose will be as beloved as Punk or Bryan, those guys were legends on the internet before they even debuted in the WWE. Most people had never seen or heard of Moxley before he signed with the WWE. He's the flavor of the month, but people don't have a real connection with him.

c/s

he has potential - clearly got mic skills, and a good enough character will easily have enough people here on board

but make no mistake, Punk and Bryan (along with guys like Joe, Nigel, Aries, 'Cide) were all internet/indy legends, they are in a class in of their own when compared to their peers coming up from the independent scenes.

what most you idiots dont realize is that moxley/ambrose has been around for like 10 years already

he used to wrestle in that developmental hwa and had some bootleg hhh/shawn michaels look with real long blonde hair, i caught hwa on tv and saw him get smacked around by nigel mcguinness

the other guy i thought would make it to wwe but never did was pepper parks, dude was doing like a babyface version of the spirit squad gimmick and was quite over in hwa and looked like brent albright

whats with this old news junk?

the internet is still firmly behind bryan 100%. the only people who even attempt hating on dude are trolls. the iwc loves bryan and will love him forever no matter what. you said "old news" as if the IWC brushed him off as a nobody or turned on him. Not true at all.

It's not his fault but they've turned him into a jester/comic relief at this point. They also made sure to take what helped rocket him to stardom, take it away, give it to other people they want to get over instead, and run it into the ground until everyone's sick of it. In that position, they could hit him with the Zach Ryder treatment at any given moment.

Nah... that's jumpin' the gun. Comic relief is like, Santino. DB's character is more like how Angle was. They had Angle doing all kinds of goofy shyt and he was still in storylines that were being treated with importance. At this point, DB's character is only helping him... way more than when he didn't have a character and seemed like he was destined to be lost in the shuffle.

And yeah, everybody still likes DB now. But "forever"? Time has proven that shyt wrong about damn near everybody. People were cryin' real tears over CM Punk's treatment just a year and change ago (remember that Heyman blog?), now it's like that 7 years of worship never happened. If DB gets the full-term main event run (and ESPECIALLY if it's as a face), it'll only be a matter of time before the love declines. It always does.

Austin Aries has gotten a main event run as a face and he's still beloved by the IWC.

I've seen this Kurt Angle comparison several times now and I don't know where it's coming from. How is Bryan's role being treated with any importance? Kurt was doing goofy sketches while in angles with Stone Cold and HHH, main-eventing PPV's. Bryan is creative's favorite running joke in a pointless midcard feud with Kane to cross-promote Charlie Sheen's new TV show. :scusthov:

Please tell me how these situations are similar.
