as is refantazioThe bloat of Rebirth is mostly optional.

refantazio's story puts it over the top.
Zach's entire involvement in the story is bloat. It was completely unnecessary in the end.

It’s a fantasy Persona? Persona is modern high school with supernatural elements. It’s a press turn system game but from a narrative standpoint they’re completely different.Ok, im not arguing. It’s fantasy persona
heismay and basillio don’t make up for the rest of the cast being bland just like persona

Also Persona doesn’t have bland cast. The problem is the cast centers around the silent or in this case semi-silent protagonist (who is typically bland) that the party suffers for not really having much in the way of relationships with each other. Most interactions center on an almost mute generic character.
All these Atlus press turn RPGs are afraid to have a well defined main character who is independent from the player.
Have you not played any of their other games? They are almost exactly that and have always been that since at least Persona 3. Most parts don't even have voice acting. The side stories in their games have always been trash and the only reason to do them is to get whatever upgrade is behind them rather than to be told an interesting story. Doesn't make the actual characters bland though.I disagree, thought all the companion missions stories were super boring aside from the two mentioned and even the way they were told is starting to get played out. They might as well be visual novels at this point

Lmaowhat are you even arguing with me about this is literally your thread talking about one game being better than another and im agreeing with you. I don’t care that you don’t agree with my reasoning.
