I can finally admit Rebirth was better than ReFantazio

I know it might be an unpopular take because most want the underdog to win. I couldn't fully appreciate Rebirth until I had time to digest it. That's not to say Rebirth doesn't have it's issues it's to say that despite them it's arguably a top 5 JRPG ever made and Metaphor ReFantazio is just a great JRPG. As an overall experience Metaphor ReFantazio is inferior to even Persona 5 Royal even if it fixes press turn system and social link flaws.

Metaphor ReFantazio doesn't take any risk or do anything particularly interesting with it's main plot. It also ends pretty sloppily with a series of plot twists (if they can be called that) that land with a wet thud. While Rebirth did botch it's final plot twist's impact by doing a bizarre take on it it wasn't a fatal mistake. Special shout out to Barret Wallace the MVP of Rebirth. Previously thought he was a caricature but he's the best character in either game.

Rebirth restored my faith in Square Enix. ReFantazio was more or less Atlus tinkering with an almost perfected press turn formula to make it a bit better.

Rebirth was goated. When I finished it and saw people trying to excessively nitpick some of the dumbest shyt while ignoring the huge highlights, it made me think people won't appreciate that until it's no longer there. Rebirth was literally a PS1 era jrpg experience in the modern era. I absolutely loved it from start to finish.

I like Fantazio but its literally just reskinned p5.

the story also got very wack towards the end, making the antagonist a stereotypical cartoon character.

The push turn system has been done to death, they need to switch that shyt up at some point.

Rebirth might’ve been better, but there was too much bloat

Refantazio had a better story. Zach’s entire role in the story was kinda pointless

Refantazio doesn’t have anything as bad as the Cait Sith solo mission

Rebirth has bloat from about chapter 3 onward. if you want some of the best items u gotta play through the most tedious minigames

Yeah, and It wasn’t even close

metaphor was cool but it was reskinned fantasy persona with the exact same story beats and tropes

Not really. You aren't getting a party member like Heismay in a Persona game. It was way more mature than Persona.

Ok, im not arguing. It’s fantasy persona

heismay and basillio don’t make up for the rest of the cast being bland just like persona

It's a tough call since both are GOATED.

I'll say Rebirth has an edge in terms of overall gameplay and Refantazio had a better story (let's be honest Rebirth's story was kind of confusing and cluttered).
