I better not see you nikkas jumping on Andrew Wiggins bandwagon next year when he's averaging 27/6/4

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
No. I actually watch him play regularly so I'm gonna call idiots like you out for simply regurgitating the bullshyt that comes from analytics clowns.

Wiggins man to man defense is really good. And once people actually start watching the Wolves play consistently now on TV cause they should be good, more people will notice.

Analytics has nothing to do with, he's been an awful defender since he came into the league and I do watch him play. He has struggled to check SFs cause he's skinny as hell and his team defense independent of KAT was awful.

You can say he has the tools to be elite but you in here really claiming his man to man defense has been good :gucci:

Yes. When he's matched up with guys his size on the perimeter he's lock down.

This is what he did to James Harden (arguably the best one on one offensive player in the league) as a rookie when he was actually playing SG most of the time.

What sucks is most of the time last year he had to guard SFs like LeBron, Durant, Melo, and Giannis who are significantly bigger than him. Even then he plays those guys well on the perimeter. He only really was dominated one on one in the post against those bigger guys.

On the perimeter he's as good as he looked there as a rookie against James Harden.

He has potential but you have to go back to his rookie year for defensive clips.

He should be better at SG but he has a long way to go and you're setting him up for backlash on here :hubie:

I don't make these clips. I just post what I find on the internet. If I actually spent time breaking down tape and posting gifs on the net there would be a lot more examples cause Wiggins has played that same caliber of perimeter defense against many other players.

That matchup with Harden just sticks out the most cause it was such a dominating defense performance and Wiggins was just a rookie. I remember making a post right after the game saying it was shocking to see him lock down a guy with such elite one on one skills. I think once people start watching him play regularly this upcoming season cause the Wolves got so much hype, this whole Wiggins can't play defense narrative will flip on its head. He'll start getting Klay Thompson level hype as an elite perimeter one on one defender.

Fukkin hell this nikka is just the fukkkin WORST POSTER EVER holy shyt
:russ:

It's true. Probably because he says things with conviction unlike a troll.

As far as Wiggins goes, he's sharing the ball with a lot of people this year. I say he puts up 20/4/2. Hopefully his defense improves with the decreased offensive load he'll be taking on.

He's lazy defensively and on the boards.

That's simply not true.

Wiggins is actually a GREAT offensive rebounder. For his career he averages 1.4 offensive rebounds per game. Compare that to LeBron who averages 1.2 offensive rebounds per game. The reason his overall rebounding numbers are low is because of SCHEME. The Wolves use him to start fast breaks. So rather than Wiggins crashing the boards after a miss, they had Rubio crash the boards to help the bigs. Then Rubio would throw the pass down the court to Wiggins for potentially an easy basket. Wiggins averaged 6 RPG in college. He's a good rebounder. He can do that again in the NBA if the team allows him. Right now he hasn't been crashing the boards for the betterment of the team. Remember the Wolves have Towns and Dieng who are both elite rebounders. And Rubio himself is great as a rebounder for a PG. So the Wolves didn't need Wiggins to crash the boards. They need him to trigger fast breaks instead.

I'm a Wiggins stan but I'm done caping for him until he shows me all this isn't just lip service. He's been talking about wanting to be an all-star for the passed 2 years and i haven't seen a change in his effort levels.

I hate the level of hate he gets tho. Peoplle still don't realize how special he can be. Even he doesn't. I still pray he gets a fire lit under him somehow.

Philly bouls, Trust the Process
I think 27ppg is within his reach, but there just won't be enough shots to go around with Jimmy and Teague now on top of KAT. Wiggins naturally defers too often, teammates of that level just give him more of a reason and excuse to do it.

I'm also still not confident enough in his playmakimg abilities for 4apg. It's not a ton, but I just don't buy it yet.

I'm more curious about his defense this year. He needs to tap into that side of his talent and stay focused off the ball.

For the record, my only concern with Wiggins has always been MENTALITY. I've never questioned his TALENT. In terms of talent I believe he's right there with the likes of Kobe, T-Mac, and Jordan as the most talented perimeter player of all-time. The only thing keeping him from all-time great status has been his mentality. He's always been passive and constantly looks like he doesn't care. I loved the quote in this article because it finally proves he might actually care. He wants to be an all-star and he's realized the idiots that doubt him doubt him for stupid reasons like rebounding numbers. Something that is easily correctable.

I'm also probably the only guy on this site who would still take Andrew Wiggins over every other young player in the NBA. The rest of ya'll are all up on the Giannis, Towns, or Embiid bandwagons. If Wiggins is focused this year on getting his numbers up, he will get it done. His problem has always been passiveness. I'm glad he's finally gonna try and prove the doubters wrong rather than just ignoring them. Wiggins will explode STATISTICALLY next year. The move to the SG position will allow him to take the league over. No more being at a size disadvantage every game. Now he'll be the one with the size advantage every game.

By the end of the 2017-18 season, Andrew Wiggins will be talked about as the best young player in the NBA.

6'8" with a 7'0" wingspan. Big hands. Crazy ups. Extremely quick both laterally and in terms of first step explosion. Mid-range game is now money. Crazy arsenal of post moves. 3-point shot improving. Ball-handling improving. Underrated vision as a passer. All the physical tools to be a lockdown defender.

In terms of pure talent there aren't any that have it better than Wiggins. His skill-set is all-time special. His only issue is MENTALITY. He lacks the killer instinct alpha male qualities of a guy like Jordan and Kobe. His personality is more that of a Scottie Pippen.

He doesn't have the BBIQ, which is a huge part of it. You don't just suddenly get BBIQ. He's actually a fine man defender, but whenever action comes, he's toast. Doesn't have the ability to read and then react, which is another reason why isn't a great rebounder. Never really in position to get rebounds, though, part of that is the Gorgui/KAT combination. Rubio was also a good rebounder for the position Became a slightly above-average shooter, which is key because Butler/Teague will be handling the ball the majority of the possessions.

He's one of the more interesting players heading into the season for me.
