Like who? Matt Damon is cool and I could see him doing a couple of Leo's roles better. Not all or even most of them though.
Daniel Day Lewis, Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender, Edward Norton, Sean Penn, Johnny Depp, Jake Gyllenhaal, Matthew McConaughey, Christian Bale, Brad Pitt...I could honestly keep going but I figured I'd keep it to cats in his relative age range. He won an Oscar for a movie that he didn't have the best performance in:mjlol:

Sean Penn
Johnny Depp
Matthew McConaughey
Brad Pitt are all noticeably older my G. And Depp is so washed it's not even funny.

They're all from the same acting generation was my point. They were all dropping films at the same time. In acting terms, if I had said Deniro or Nicholson I'd obviously be going way too far as far as generations go, but the dudes I mentioned are perfectly in line with DiCaprios's generation. Depp just dropped Black Mass which, while not an amazing film, was a great performance on his part. Contrasted with his many other great performances in the past, he's shown amazing range

Are they? Daniel Day Lewis Sean Penn and Brad Pitt especially aren't. DDL and Penn are like 20 years older, Pitt 10. lol
Yeah he was cool in that but it is nowhere near Leo's recent performances (Wolf of Wall St., Django). Of anyone you mentioned he really rides some reputation he got 10+ years ago.

All the dudes I mentioned were putting out hits and great performances at the same time as Leo was doing it. When it comes to movies, careers are measured a lot differently. Penn may be almost 20 years older but their first films are 10 years apart. The crux of their acting careers happened at the same time. George Clooney, another guy I forgot, is older but his career was at it's peak at the same time as Leo. The two Leo movies you mentioned, he didn't have the best performances in. If you want to make it a question of recent performances then Leo is ahead of a dude like Depp, but I thought this was supposed to be about talent in general, instead of what have you done for me lately

Sean Penn was playing adult roles when Leo was 7 years old. Most of his great roles Leo wasn't even 18 yet. Same with DDL.
But really it's all subjective. There is no definitive right answer. Who do you think was better in Wolf of Wall St. tho?
