Not sure what to tell you.
As i don't care for novel based work or horror being a comic. As i find the shyt to be illustrator based and not penciler based. Meaning the art is supa trash and i ain't buying some trash ass art ever. So past telling you about jim lee. I don't have much to tell you. As comics officially became a waste of money and time in sheer quality. After the image guys other than mcfarlane stopped regularly penciling.
Plus the work lee did leading up to xmen is best revisited from just his issues. As xmen hit a shytty time period. from the death of storm in jim lee's debut. To eventually the boom and his ten issues of xmen. So even recommending giant soze xmen is sumfin i will not do.
Kirkman's invincible is probably your only move.
As real talk....people have lost sight of heros. From the prison industrial economy.
So there are no relevent heroes. or stories worth a damn. after 1989 past spidey getting married and the mcfarlane run. Where there is a great hero representation with a visual worth recommending. I hate dc and vertigo. exclusively as much as sega. So you won't ever hear me say garth ennis is good or anything dc is good. when he and dc supa trash and just a horror script guy with no idea of hero building.
Comics are kinda worthless past being gifted art ability to be honest.
I guess after selling my spidey 300 and new mutants 87 and first deadpool. After how much they generated. I find comics to have been a ripoff for anyone else. If they do not own spiderman 300. As you can google all the great art now if you were trying to be a great comic book penciler. Yet i find that hard to believe as a real passion for any artist now. As there are no high quality stories or marvel artist in this gen to create a new gen of great comics or artist as well. Glad you got joy. Yet it will be hard for you to recapture that. As you already started the last only good comic property writer in kirkman. Yet the art on all his books leaves to much to be desired to hold my attention. Maybe since your gateway is walking dead. You can just see what you like. Yet you will waste a lot of time and money. trying to look for another graphic novel in the quality of kirkman on twd.
