I remember beats selling for close to 4 billion and dre got a large chunk of that, along with iovine.

nah - these major deals, doesn't necessarily means said artist makes a killing off

i remember like 10 years ago - 50 had the vitamin water & when that deal went down -coca cola brought it for over 4 billion dollars
nikkaz, automatically was like 50 net worth is over 500milly BUT in reality he made roughly 50milly off it

so, i assume that dre beats/apple deal was similar to 50
