Ah...but I didn't list Barry.

I listed Tony because they were scrubs most of his tenure and he played close to 20 years. And Baseball dudes get more weight in these arguments imo, because star baseball players have to rely on their teammates more than any other sport (i'll admit this is arguable).

I see his name on the poll so you listed that nikka. :birdman: :russ:

I get what you are saying but Tony still went to 2 WS and a couple other playoff appearance (I'm guessing). You got nikkas like E. Banks who never made the playoffs.

Almighty Garden State
LeRoy Selmon (Bucs)

took my fukkin pick!

probably the biggest gap between team talent and individual, poor Lee Roy he was on like 7 of the 10 worst teams all time (at the time). lol @ Hardy, thats pretty good im pretty sure even the Steelers were bad when he was with them earlier in his career.

Steve Carlton went 27-10 with a sub 2 ERA for a team that won 59 games all season 1972 Philadelphia Phillies Batting, Pitching, & Fielding Statistics - Baseball-Reference.com

I can give a dude like Mr. Cub because:

- I think the Cubs did make the playoffs while he was there, but they never made a WS.
- He was clearly a beast.
- The Cubs were known as a subpar franchise for most of the time he was there, and it wasn't his fault.

Now - I think you can apply that same argument for a dude like Tony Gwynn.

The Padres went to the WS while he was real young, and went to another when he was real old (and got destroyed). In between those, the Padres were AWFUL. By and large, the Padres whole history as a franchise is mediocre.

The D (where it's so cold)
In Football it's clearly Barry Sanders, yeah they did have some success but nothing consistent as Barry was, also Dan Marino and Bo Jackson had it pretty bad but most of the time they had winning seasons, Marino only had ONE losing season I think.

In Baseball I would go with Tony Gwynn or Ken Griffey Jr.

In Basketball I always felt bad for Pat Ewing, those teams weren't terrible and were playoff regulars but they gooned their way into wins Ewing was the only real talent on that team. Rock, KG and Bron eventually got their rings, Ewing never did and that's partly due to his supporting cast.

I voted for Barry though because he basically retired because he knew the Lions were never going to get better and there was no way in hell they were going to let him go.
