Damn, nikka s is making that in call centers

At a call center you're going to work 288 days a year. That's what the average American works.

Teachers work 185 days a year. That's 103 extra days off that the average American doesn't get.

It's crazy to see that Massachusetts is only at $40k but some of their districts are topping $80k a year average. Not sure of many industries where you can double your salary by not leaving the building. And after 4 years you're practically un-fire-able.

Real talk, I'd take a pay cut to LEAVE NYC schools. If you land at a specialized, elite, and more than decent school you'll be eatin' good. Unfortunately most of the schools in NYC are GARBAGE and not worth the stress. People talk about teachers have it easy with summers off but the shyt you have to go through.

I mentioned starting a new position a few weeks ago on here. I've had thoughts of walking away already. Starting to get health issues that I've never had to deal with before.

Most teachers in the United States still don't make shyt and often have a difficult time even finding work. You would think they would pay well in CT but nope. Certain schools maybe but most will have you starting at like $35K

:ohhh:

I thought they were doing a hiring freeze .... my sister has been trying to get in....

how long ago did she apply

She got in this summer. She went to schools and gave in her resume and one principal thought she would be perfect for an opening in a first grade bilingual class
