Jim Boeheim Used to Think Michael Jordan Was the Best Player He’s Ever Seen, But After Coaching LeBron, Boeheim’s Not So Sure Anymore | The Big Lead

He’s a leader. He gets on the court, he tells people what to do … this guy can guard five [positions] … put him on anybody, he can guard him. I always felt Michael Jordan was the best player I’ve ever seen … I didn’t think it was close … and I’m not so sure anymore … this guy is 6-9, 260 pounds and he’s getting better … I know we’ve had great, great players through the years. He’s like Magic Johnson with Michael Jordan-type skills as well.”

LeBron is coming off one of the best years in basketball history, and he only turns 28 this December. He’s just entering his prime. Forget the 1992 Dream Team vs. the 2012 Olympic Team debate … what about in a game of 1 on 1, 1992 Michael Jordan vs. 2012 LeBron James?

hope he can guard Dwight:smh:

he's not a better defender...not even half as impressive on offense, yet im supposed to expect him to surpass Jordan?... alrighty then

let's see 1 guy has a good jumper (MJ) and one of the fastest first steps ever, the other guy is big, athletic, has a sporadic J but is strong and has a vastly improved post game

this might just depend on if its "make it take it" or whoever gets the ball first

Jordan has a much more rounded offensive game, and let's not act like michael jordan wasn't extremely strong for his body type

I'm going with MJ - but i do contend Lebron is a prototype formed in a lab

so a nikka thats not even better than Magic, Kobe, Shaq, or Kareem and probably 4-5 other nikkas is now considered better than the G.O.A.T? and this nikka is talking about his skillset?

let me see Lebron when hes lost most of his youthful athleticism and he has to rely more on his skillset before we start making comparisons because its way to early still.

He finally won a ship and nikkas are going crazy, and yes I like Bron...I rooted for that nikka this year.

Writing is already on the wall, LeBron probably has at least 7 years left in his NBA career and already has respected basketball people saying he will be in the discussion as the GOAT. as a Jordan stan I recognize LeBron more than any other has a shot at the throne.

Can we stop this ignorance that Lebron can guard 1-5?...the only reason that's true is because there are like 5 real big men in the league. Lebron can't guard Dwight... He can't guard Bynum... 2 years ago he couldnt guard Tim Duncan. Of course he can guard these bum centers we have in the league now... Cause they're not real true centers. Can he guard 1-4...yes. But he's not the LOCKDOWN defender on the best point guards and centers that people try to make him out to be.

statistically MJ is a better scorer and a Better Defender. but Lebron has him in rebounding and Assists. Although during playoff games MJ's Rebounding and Assist numbers are just as high as Lebrons.

He'll obviously never be as talented a scorer as MJ. but if Lebron improves his shot blocking he might could one day be a better all around player. At this point MJ is better in every facet of the game except for rebounding and passing and he is not that far down in those categories especially when you consider Lebron's Size advantage.

Plus Mj can guard 1 through 4. Lebron can guard 1 through 4. don't fooled by Lebron guarding Al Horford or KG. those dudes are power forwards. Mj can guard them too.
